6,4" was huge back then. Now, it's mainstream. Sony always have a place in modders hearts. Less drama, more action when talking about device source. Others should learn from Sony about it.

None of them are Waterproof, who the hell wrote this article? There is a difference between Water Resistance and Waterproof!

I remember my only Sony smartphone, the Xperia Z1 back in 2014-2015 I think. It was such a nice phone (when talking about built quality). The software wasn’t so great though if I remember (probably because of the way Android was back then). Before that Sony phone I had a Samsung S3 (no comparison when it comes to built quality, Sony was much better).
Sadly for Sony (the same like LG) it targeted a particular type of user in the end. Samsung went to target the average users, so they followed a different path (a better one if you ask me).

It's sad to see Sony go the way of LG. Goodbye Sony

Sony make a new phone with Bezel less.

                          Good article.
                          Really enjoyed my Sony Phones.
Currently trying a OnePlus 8t as I'm in a country that took too long to get the current Sony's in.
I will ditch this 8t as soon as the 5iii is available. My OnePlus experience has been absolutely terrible. Bugs, slow updates, terrible camera post processing and bugs related to it. Zero support outside of the OnePlus community.

But as usual the pro China anti Japan shils will be along to flood this comment section with propaganda any moment.

The Z series was great, but unfortunately Sony stayed stagnant when it came to their design, and failed to keep up with market trends like OLED screens, bezelless desgins etc. And their poor marketing strategy only made the situation worse for them, unfortunately. Sony has the potential and resources to make their smartphone business great, but I guess it's just a conscious business decision they made since a long time ago.

                              Not only modern Xperias.
They laid the foundation for many smartphones to come later.
The Xperia Z was an epitome of Xperia.
It was perfect except for the average or mediocre battery life in today's standards.

Sony's phone have alot going for them, though they need to work on their confusing and random naming scheme, their uninoising designs and their camera quality could definitely improve. They HDR is definitely behind most of the flagships.

Tho that's only when its in very light apps like Youtube or the homescreen.

The Arc series had the hardware shutter as well. And lets not forget their feature phones.

This was my second smartphone, after the Arc S. The Z was a great phone, but suffered gradual slow downs as Google kept bloating their Play Services. My first smartphone (aside from Japanese keitais) where I could use in light rain or less-extreme elements and not have to worry.

While a definitely upgrade over the Arc S (and much better build-quality), I hated the loss of the shutter key. Made the under-water shots impossible due to the capacitive display going nuts underwater (and probably why the Z1 brought that key back).

Had mine for three years before upgrading to the S6, which remains the longest phone I've used at four years. Currently on a Pixel 3a, and I may go back to a Sony with the I mk III.
