The fact that some tablets have equal internals (or even better with the M1) as phones but with bigger screens and batteries yet cost hundreds less, prove that flagship smartphones are overpriced.

Nodal to Mesh, 21 Apr 2021lmao. Android manufacturers even about to get rid off table... moreBecause they simply can't compete with Apple in a tablet market.

Nodal to Mesh, 21 Apr 2021what bs I just read now! This illiterate is literally again... moreWhat a hateful & toxic comment. This is how you talk to people in real life?
The (first gen, low power) M1 is way above all current ARM SoC's and and on the same level as AMD & Intel CPU's (mobile versions). You will see in the upcoming years, a trend towards more and more ARM based computers. This is not my opinion. It's already a trend that the whole computer industry goes.

A few examples how Apple's new uArch performs:
      1)
Here an early review of the M1 (Mac mini) from the website Phoronix (A site that reviews Linux hardware and Servers). The tests were from last November, when the drivers and the optimization were still on an very early stage (or non existent). Most of the tests that run on Rosetta 2.0 (instruction translation from X86/64 to AArch64), run with an very impressive speed.

      2)
Here another Mac mini M1, reviewed by Anadtech. Impressive how such a low power 8c/8t SoC (20-25W whole system) holds up against X86/x64 Desktop CPU's.

But since it using M1 can it run vs code?

At this point it's probably better for them run MacOS instead on iPad Pro. Apple is killing the competition with the Mini LED display and everything else about the 12.9 inch model is also absolutely no joke, but there is no way that iPad OS will be able to utilise that hefty 16GB of ram regardless of what kind of apps you use on it.

Sure, it might be able to run Edge and web apps just fine, but if that's how you use your laptop then you might just want to get a Chromebook instead.

The 12.9" iPad Pro is a true spec beast, but the smaller one is total fiasco... They should use the improved LCD technology in both models, or simply launch the 12.9" iPad only. Not to mention that Samsung and Lenovo already made tablets with awesome OLED screens with infinity contrast ratio...

M1 is a powerhouse no doubt, but iOS is too restrictive and it can't unleash its true powers unlike on a Mac.
