Actually even in apple products several ICs are from qualcomm, especially the modem and some RF front end chips. So the 5G chart is a little misleading.

Really like releasing source code is gonna be the most invincible thing when it could also put a person's device at risk of being bricked. That doesn't reflect the current market in which Mediatek dominates. In fact this is no surprise because it seems most people or businesses clearly want a standard, affordable working device and it seems Mediatek is leading in that.

They use standard ARM design & is comparable to Snapdragon except in the very high-end segment like SD888, it's acceptable because they are priced lower compared to the competition but they have weak GPU across the board they must improve on it (like in Dimensity 1200 CPU is comparable to SD 870 but the GPU is weak)

big reason Usa don't want to let taiwan go even when they usually gave up on other regions and just offered sanctions and big words

2) sources won't help you to pass through this authorized account...problem is on a lower level than Rom
3) sources of all devices with Mediatek's available in western countries exists on Github...it takes a couple of minutes to find.
4) modified USB driver allow to passtrough authorized account.

Chinese manufacturers defiantly realized How important to be independent in chips manufacturing . I won't be surprised if they start leading in the upcoming 10 years or so.

If i were you i will just pay a technician to flash the rom of Redmi note 8 pro because its too complicated with the restriction of Mediatek chipset to flash a custom rom unlike the Snapdragon, also if something brick happen there's a assurance that of technician warranty.

Don't know why you're having problems but it's not related to the chipset. Maybe you should just stick with Miui.
