If technology experts wouldn't fact check what's behind the so called "HarmonyOS", we would still believe, that it would be a something totally new... which isn't at all.
The Firefox OS that is used in some Amazon tablets and phones is an Android fork. Amazon didn't hide it.

nickname optional, 05 May 2021HarmonyOS is just an unofficial fork based on the already 2... morethey had no other choise, if they'll would make OS from scratch all developers would have to port their apps to it, it will be very slow. So they forked Android, and at least many people will be able to install mainstream apps like WhatsApp etc. In the future if Harmony OS will succed, many developers will make their apps native for this OS.

Huawei has to reach a new deal with the Biden Administration and launch EMUI 12 based on Android 11 with GMS and leaving the experiments with soda, which is what Harmony OS really is.
Just following this way they will be able to recover their sales.
The rest has no future. You can check it at the present time -> Huawei mobile sales still fall down.

HarmonyOS is just an unofficial fork based on the already 2 years old Android 10, disguised as a new mobile OS "made" by Huawei.

It will take alot more time to have it mature & running and by that time it will become irrelevant. Plus I think it will remain irrelevant outside china.
I'm more interested in fuchsia os that may release in coming years and see how it will play with Android as whole!
