to be honest, can't really compare switch to playstation 4 or 5, not really direct competitor, as switch hybrid portable system, it's unique selling point, nevertheless, very sucessful and within 5 years of release, seems like will surpass 100 mil units in sales.

Chips manufacturers are Samsung(korean),Huawei(chinese),mediatek(taiwanese) and snapdragon(american) and Apple(american). Have you ever wondered why they are saying snapdragon is the best CHIP for your android device(google,american)? and have you wondered why there is tons of new mobile models released every year?because the game is not only american thing. Look at what they have done to huawei? now huawei is making their own OS.

This is what happens if there is no competition. This two can easily agree to mark up the price and make stories so they both benefit from it. The main component of the ps5 is the new GPU of it, Look what happend to intel, they are kicked as top CPU chip maker because of AMD's ryzen series. Now if there is more chip maker companies what do you think will happen?Beware that this companies are all american companies, you dont see any asian blooger or any youtuber or website posting about this ps5 shortage. Your mobile is either ios or android(american), your PC is either windows or MAC os(another american). Don't buy and eventually they are forced to give it to you.

A kid can not buy this for himself, so they should think before releasing a over expensive console. You buy the games on consoles so devs got a fair share with it. Try playing Red dead redemtion 2 on xbox and compare it to a 2000$ PC, you will be amazed that xbox has better graphics even if the hardware isn't that powerful, why?because it is optimized for the xbox hardware. Sand is mined, if oil still do exist why does sand is running out?. PS5 is not assembled by hand also, the same case with CPU's and GPU's so how come production is reduced?and how come samsung is releasing new models for mobile if there's a shortage of chips? Because they are trying to fool us and use social media platform to spread news and make it viral, because people nowadays rely heavily on this platforms. How come that PS5 is in demand? You are not consuming it everyday either. Bottom line I suggest forget about the PS5, and don't support those people who hide it and resell for a very expensive tag.

The issue here is they are making stories,just like graphic card,there is no pandemic before I remember when GTX 10 series arrived,same no stock because of miners they are saying,and marked up the price due to demand. I saw a lot of people selling ps5 at the secondhand market,used and new,so it means stocks are either grabbed by the staffs of big supermarket and stores. how come it is in demand if i am seeing it everywhere?so this is all drama for me. Specially i am seing a hundreds of stocks of ps4 on big supermarkets and stores. Eveybody is taking advantage of the situation trying to grab 1 and resell,but nobody is buying,so howncome it is in demand?even if display is there?right?

O... moresony playstation being very profitable is beneficial to every playstation owners, without being profitable, how could they offer 16 free (some triple aaa) games (require no subscription) since last year as part of play at home inititve to combat covid19, don't see their rivals do the same as well

I'm in Ireland and the price when available at Smyth's or GameStop is 499 for the digital only edition and 599 for the disc edition. That's never changed. There is a logistical problem with the supply chain and unprecedented demand because of lockdown. That's just the way it is. If Sony could keep up with demand they're going to sell. Companies like cex marking up the price by a 100 to 200 euros, that makes no difference to Sony. It's retail economics. The only thing this inability to meet demand with supply in a timely manner is doing is annoying potential customers and making them look at alternative options like Xbox. It's a pr disaster for Sony. There's no ulterior motives here

Guys do not fall to this marketing drama of this companies. They are trying to mark up the price only. Here in my country I can see a lot of stocks in small stores, and big ones they dont have the display. They are trying to hide it and make some drama to mark up the price and sell all the over stock PS4. So dont fall for this no stock news all over the internet. No one is buying it here in my place, i swear even if its marked up only by 100$ from the original SRP. This is all gimmick.

Whatever games released by Microsoft is available on Xbox and PC while Sony are exlcusive solely on PS Consoles like Nintendo Exculsives. Tho they are getting available on PC anyways in a couple of years. Eitherway Xbox aint worthit if you got a PC.

I was a hardcore PS player for many years. PS exclusives are way overrated and not worth the effort just to stick to one console. The ony two exclusives I really rated were TLOU2 and Days Gone, hence I opted for XB when Gamepass was introduced. Sonny's unwillingness to add a gamepass service including releasing exclusives on this service on release day like XB is doing is going to hurt them in time to come. XB currently has 23 studios and within the next 2-3yrs the exclusives will start pumping out on gamepass. PS forces one to pay exorbitant prices for their games which isn't worth it tbh. So I'm really enjoying XB gamepass and until PS don't come to their senses, I will remain with XB.
