Both search engines/messaging apps are run by big profit oriented companies and both services are free to the user which means ultimately the user (data) is the product. And in the former cases (WhatsApp & Google) you at least get better service for your data. ONLY Signal is run by a non-profit that protects your user data or even better doesn't even collect it.

Sadly is the truth, no one will switch from WhatsApp is like if you try to covince iOS iMessage users to switch intro other messaging apps...

When I made switch from WhatsApp to Telegram and Signal on February this year and told my close friends about it and asking them to use either both. They simply reply to me, saying that they'll agree with the new WhatsApp terms and conditions and doesn't bother about it. Coz, they said that everyone is using it. I said to myself that if one day you people (my close friends) get a scam calls or messages and fall for it? Don't blame anyone. Coz, they don't value they own privacy.

It's time people abandon WhatsApp altogether. It has nothing going for it anymore. Telegram has tons of cool features that WhatsApp lacks. People need to be more flexible with switching!

Same here, I havent accepted and I wont accept. Facebook needs me for their business, and I dont like one bit any of their new terms. Sucks for everyone else, but I guess I'll move to Telegram

Using any app involved with FaceBook is a bad idea. People should stand up for their privacy but privacy is against Facebook's bottom line. The very thought of privacy personally anguishes Mark Zuckerberg. I personally want him to suffer this anguish. For once, overbearing regulations are actually done as a favor to the people - even those that don't know any better. Good. Way to go Germany! Big tech itself needs privacy regulation across the board and monetizing privacy should be banned. Cut them off!

I haven't accepted the new terms. I'm waiting for my WhatsApp to slowly die and then I'll switch to something else.
