Kedar284, 20 May 2021It has 189 ppi, then why do people crib over 720p sub 300 p... moreBecause the normal viewing distance on a laptop screen is far different from the normal viewing distance on a smartphone screen.
With smartphone screens, a person will be much closer when looking at it, and that makes individual pixels more visible, unlike on laptop screens where a person will be sitting at a farther distance, hence the pixels will be less visible.
The same principle can be applied to TVs, wherein the pixels are more easily visible when looking up close, but everything gets perfectly sharp when you stay back for about a feet or two, just as a person would normally do when watching in a TV.

Solid business laptop for sure. The lack of eGPU and (even though it was expected) no TB3/4 support are quite disappointing, however.. Huawei needs to price it right or this won't fly very far.

Edit: Just saw the price. $980 isn't too shabby for a reasonably colour accurate 1680p display, Ryzen 5000H series APU and 4 USB + HDMI ports. Good job, Huawei.

Anonymous, 20 May 2021I don't see the point at the future price if it is not... moreI mean, it's an H-class Ryzen 5000 series processor with 45W TDP we're talking about here. It's not meant to be compared to M1 in the first place, at least in CPU performance (M1 has a substantial edge when it comes to GPU, though - this laptop is really struggles in graphics performance).

Not bad, considering the price! 32GB RAM option would be great. This, 16GB, version will probably sell for 1000-1100 euros in my parts of EU. Given that 16GB D 16/D 14 with Ryzen 4000 cost below 900, this could be even cheaper than 1000 euros.
I wonder hows the keyboard, those D series laptops that Ive tried in stores(some of them carry few Huawei laptops, like, literally one or two models) was with keys that felt like soft rubber and not hard plastic like in normal keyboards, so it was a no-go for me in that regard.

I don't see the point at the future price if it is not more powerful and battery efficient as the M1.

16" 3:2 laptop? Very rare combination. What a behemoth of a display. Even the Surface Book 3 tops at 15". Slightly disappointed there's no 120 Hz refresh rate considering the latest Xiaomi has it, also no dGPU and eGPU support. Still, it looks like an excellent all rounded laptop.

No offense, but the price ain't great

Looks good, but could be better with a dedicated GPU (RTX 3050/3050 Ti Max-Q). It could have been one of the best all-around laptops, capable of gaming, content creation (leveraging the powerful CPU) and basic workloads.
