Regarding the data plans, is not like that where I live (not US). The last time I bought a phone through carrier was in 2016 I think. Since then I had maybe 30 phones. No need to buy them through carriers, because the data plans are not that expensive like in US to make the phones much cheaper.
Is not like we are obliged to buy only Samsung, Apple or Xiaomi. You can find other brands too here (Realme, Sony, OnePlus, Motorola, even some Vivo or Oppo models). But this are so insignificant or not important, that majority of people just buy the first three types of phones that I said. It was Huawei also before the ban, the fourth one.

The reason why they are giving so many discounts is coz the Exynos version ain't selling that well.

I was indeed wrong about oneplus, they intentionally lowered throttling temps in 3dmark it seems, along with huawei and oppo. Oneplus 9 pro and mate 40 pro both perform better than samsung phones when it comes to actual games though.

It can keep whatever spot in 3dmark and still throttle in actual games. And also, look at the 3dmark tests actual fps,

Second, if you can get a good deal, then what is the problem?
Even if I would not like at all a particular phone, I will still get it with a nice discount and in worst case scenario I will sell it and make some profit.
I don't hold allegiance to any company. I get whatever phone suits me or it is at a good deal.
I can't say I am a fan of Samsung Exynos phones, but when I can get my hands on one for as little as 350EUR, why not?

And for a S21 Ultra the Samsung store discount was around 300EUR (plus whatever you can get for your phone, depending on your phone).
The iPhone Xr is valued by them at 300EUR. At least, this is what they gave me for it, because it was new phone (3 months old).
Again, not everybody lives in third world countries. Lol.

But after i prove you wrong you say 'those are gaming phones! Ofc they are better!'
And then there's mi 11 which isnt even a gaming phone which has 20% higher stability.

I went into the Samsung store with the idea to buy a cheaper model (A52 or S20FE), and went out with a S21 just because they had some nice promotions on the S21 series.
I received 450€ for my iPhone Xr (including the Samsung store discount) and on top of that they gave 120€ at the end for accessories (I bought a nice leather cover, a 25W fast charger and a 15W wireless charger, all Samsung original).
That's the power of Samsung and Apple stores. You will never find similar promotions on Chinese phones. For once, because it doesn't exist any Xiaomi or Realme specialized stores in my country.
And I could have gotten even the S21 Ultra with around 600€ with the same promotions (because the Samsung store discount was even greater for the Ultra model). But, I don't like the Ultra, too big for me.

The S21 doesn't have audio jack, low res screen, no charger in box, no SD card support, weaker soc in some regions and arguably same main camera sensor as last year. Still sell it expensive. So this S21 FE is a way to make people fell that their expensive flagship junk worth the price but people are not so fool.
