nah, 22 May 2021I disagree, how are they the future? What meaningful benefi... moreOnce I got the folder I released all other phones of candy bar design are just the same. Sure the specifications are different, but you don't notice it most of the time. Or just get use to the speed. With the fold, doesn't matter where you are, it's so nice to have such a big display. My partner and I watch Loki or wandavision soon as it came out on the fold2 over the TV. Just so nice to lay on the coach and have a massive display where ever you go.

people are discouraged from buying because they have seen what happens to Flip screen over time. i know a person who was very disappointed that flip is basically not usable after ~8 months of usage, and went back to normal smartphone.

That's some impressive numbers, if they will end up being true.
Still, foldable phones were a nice idea maybe before this pandemic. Now, with our lives (and the way we do work) changing, we spend most of our time at home. No need for pocketable big screens to carry around with us (because we don't travel or commute that much anymore).
Is better (and I think even cheaper) to have a combo phone + nice tablet (for example S21 & Tab S7+). The phone to use if necessary on the go and the tablet to keep it at home for media consumption and stuff.

nah, 22 May 2021I disagree, how are they the future? What meaningful benefi... morePeople want bigger screens but in a form that fits in their pocket.
With foldable/rollable they can get bigger screen when needed.

nah, 22 May 2021I disagree, how are they the future? What meaningful benefi... moreSame answer as everything else we fold up to make it more manageable. It's physics 101: Tablets doesn't fit in your pocket, half a tablet does. Phablets are extremely bulky in your pockets, half a phablet is tiny.
Having the screen protected from external damage 24/7, without needing any sort of additional protection is a big plus
Little things like hanging up by closing the device are just bonuses.

Foldable, rollable etc has still yet to proof to be durable enough for average people.
I have og galaxy fold and it is good as new but everyone just thinks that it is very fragile.
Prices needs to drop so more people will dare to buy and when other people see that those phones are not that fragile they will also consider buying.
I think making high end 2000 euros phone and then lower priced lower spec phone for 1000-1300 euros would be great to get people buying these devices.
These are the future of smartphones.

Swarley1, 22 May 2021What is wrong with you?? There are many, many cheap good... moreMan please educate me whats the point of making a 2000 dollar device whiich is far less durable than a 50-100 dollar phone.
Screen scratchable by a nail. Total waste.
Even if i will have unlimited ammount of money i wouldnt buy a thing which would last maybe a week or a month until its get damaged.
Nothing wrong with me but way you thinking is wrong.

FatShady, 21 May 2021don't put a selfie cam in the inner screen since you... moreInner cam is needed. Video calls are much better using the larger display. Remember foldables are supposed to be a Phone and a Tablet combine.

AnonD-731363, 21 May 2021Foldable phones waste of innovation money and many else. ... moreWhat is wrong with you?? There are many, many cheap good functional phones, by your way of thinking, no fine, nice outstanding things of any kind should exist? You are utterly biased by some childish psichologic trauma or something of the sort, good luck with that..
