Anonymous, 24 May 2021But there is no need for improvement, them why give an upda... moreYeah I know about the IOS problem. It was for iPhone 11 and 12 models, they have the same performance as an iPhone Xr. But also, the same update made the iPhone 7 and 8 series better. So, it was definitely a bug.
Anyway they corrected it in the meantime. I think in just 2 weeks they released IOS 14.5.1.

Bottom line, software updates can create bugs, but they also can be good. And is the same in every industry that uses software, not just in the mobile industry.
The real problem, imo, is when companies don't acknowledge the bugs (intentionally or unintentionally) and then you need to wait with a problematic phone, for a software update.

Anonymous, 24 May 2021People who spend 4 figures don't care of software upda... moreJokes on you, I see YouTubers do a deep dive video about the latest OS update on a certain phone. Even on forums, you can find loads of them.

Look at latest iOS update that slowed down down iPhones to 1/3rd it's speed.
We don't want unnecessary updates as new updates always give rise to new bugs

He has the update to Android 9 ready, but he doesn't want to do it, because he is afraid that will brake his phone. The phone works perfectly fine as it is.
But, is also true that some updates are necessary. You don't need Android X++ all the time, but some improvement updates could be ok sometimes.

YUKI93, 23 May 2021I do. There's no point paying for a four-figure smartp... moreOnly people on here and nerds geeks which acount for 5% care about updates.
90% don't care, as long as people can text call browse and the phone performs well, updates are unnecessary.
Majority buy Vpn, and pay premuim monthly cost, they don't rely on cheap poor free trashy updates.

You care more about updates. but rather use a basic phone than this. Really? You're the 5 in a millions who woud do that.

For the rest, software support is definitely important. I sold some phones in the past just because some software update broke something in the phone and I didn't have the patience to wait for them to correct it.
So yeah, software support is important. Not necessarily software updates (I mean from Android X to Android X+1), but software support that improves certain things in the phone.

YUKI93, 23 May 2021I actually doubt that. A close friend of mine is currently ... moreThat's because is not only the general settings he needs to put off. That will prevent the ads in the Ui. But there will still be ads in some apps. He needs to enter in those apps settings and put recommendations off.
There are some YouTube videos clearly explaining all processes. Is not that hard and it doesn't take long.

Of course, makes you wonder why you need to do all those things by yourself. Especially when some models have ads and other don't. I had a Poco X3 NFC and out of the box it had ads all over the place. Now I have a Poco F3 as a secondary phone and I didn't encountered so many ads out of the box.

Anonymous, 22 May 2021Nobody on Android buys a phone based on how many updates it... moreI do. There's no point paying for a four-figure smartphone if it doesn't have enough update and software support. I may as well just buy a cheap entry-level phone instead.

Anonymous, 23 May 2021Nah you can’t just accept that MIUI is cheap. Overrated brand. It's cheaper for sure. That's what makes it so attractive genius. Maybe you like throwing money away like confetti. I have the Poco F3. It cost 292 euros so I could hold back money for something more important than a phone but still get a phone that does everything brilliantly apart from a camera which is okay. It's not terrible but it's not great. It gets the job done for what I need from a camera on a phone. The rest of the phone is quality. Quality build, 670,000 score on antutu tells it's own story. High geekbench scores too. Very powerful processor, fast charging and a really high quality display. I have found a couple of ads. The rest are disabled. It's hardly hampering my experience with using the phone.i have used phones valued at 1500. I used my brother's iPhone 12 pro Max 512gb last week. Yes it was very good but I couldn't see a major difference. He paid 1500 euros. I paid 292. I am pretty sure I got the better deal but yeah he can say that he spent 1500 euros on a phone I guess if that floats his boat.

Many new things on Android 10 or 11 or 12 were copied from miui and other skins.

I just recently got a S21 with 350EUR (after I traded in my newly iPhone Xr for 300EUR + Samsung store discount for 150EUR). Plus 120EUR bonus at the end for accessories. I mean, you can't beat that. Even if you don't like Samsung phones, lol.
