This is long overdue, tho I see it’s still a low amp high voltage option compared to other proprietary quick charge options developed by phone manufacturers. Will the higher amperage help?

I’ve had a 100w (advertised; 20V5A they say) charger for ages and basically not one laptop I used was capable of charging at 100w; usually they ended up in 30w max, sometimes 60w; you’d have to put them to sleep for optimal effect. I hope the unified solution comes out sooner and all manufacturers embrace it wholeheartedly; a universal fast charge solution is long overdue.

Many comments here implying phones charging at 100w, 240w etc. Just because it can charge at 240w, doesn't mean it needs to. PD is a smart protocol which has many profiles and it will choose whatever profile your device is complaint with.
The whole point is to use a single charger not only for different phones, but also for different devices from laptops to phones, cameras, to even small Bluetooth devices.

AnonD-889996, 27 May 2021This is for laptop, not for phone and tablet.Dude, you know how laptop battery works? The charger charges the battery till it's fully charged and then if you'll keep the cable plugged in, then instead of charging the charger will directly run the system, the battery is only used when the charger is unplugged.

This would be more useful for powering more demanding electronic appliances such as TVs, laptops, mini PCs than phones but if it was for phones, compared to 120W that can charge a 4000mAh phone in 15 mins, 240W would do it in 8 mins. I'm not that terribly impatient to get my phone charged that fast but it's nice to have.
