Good to see a decent camera feature which is a specialty of Xiaomi and the mediatek processor at the core.

Sorry, but the downgrade from 6000 mAh to 5000 mAh is a dealbreaker for me. I keep my Poco M3 for now.

AnonD-1000793, 30 May 2021People do change their phones frequently. Especially in the... moreThey keep releasing same models with a few differences as those are targeted at different prices.
There are people whose budget is limited by changes of 30$-40$.
Doesn't mean people are changing models one after the other

Anonymous, 30 May 2021Who cares? A case will hide this hideous painting anyway.. Or just let it be with transparent case. Who cares its copied from where, we're end customers in which have all freedom to choose which ones to buy.

AnonD-762416, 30 May 2021"We couldn't make the camera shape look like Sams... moreWell, no one will confuse it for an S21 Ultra with that big POCO logo. I like how budget phones adopt the design language of ultra flagships, it tends to blur the line between them somewhat so there's less of a distinction between them. And the S21 Ultra's design is so simple that it's not that hard to copy.

i have given things to consider about phones in general, not budget ones specifically. what i was saying it is rather narrowminded to judge phones as almost identical just because they got similar SoC or looks.

Djeez, yet another moutain of a bump. If they'd made the back flush then they could have kept the 6000MAh battery.
Why do these bloody manufacturers always seem to copy the worst parts of one another? Brand A has a lousy big camera hump... then the rest follow with that fugly design! Brand A drops 3.5mm-jack... the rest follow! Brand A drops the psu.... guess what the rest does (especially on their "flagship"-devices).
This is completely ridiculous! A "Flagship" should contain EVERYTHING! The flagship package should contain the best headphones, best charger, highest quality usb-cable. The phone should have every conceivable connection- and communication means possible. Including gold-plated 3.5mm-jacks, full IRDA as well as the latest and greatest BT and WIFI-standards. Period!

I'm satisfied with my x3 pro, but for one thing i must admit i find it rather ugly looking... the m3 pro's design (even the old m3's one) are much better...

AnonD-1000793, 30 May 2021I think you are referring to the 5G variants. Because the 4... moreif we compare M3 and M3 Pro we will see it just 2 different phones, they target different customers. M3 Pro is not M3 "on stetoids"
it's not just bout SoC. if we are to compare phones, there are so many things to considet, besides SoC:
RAM - LPDDR4X or DDR5
storage - eMMC or UFS? if UFS, then is it UFS 2.1, 2.2, or 3.0?
display - resolution (720 or 1080 or higher), IPS or AMOLED, color accurate or not, contrast, brightness, PWM, high refresh rate, gorilla glass, lots of things to look here for.
case - frame, backpanel glass or plastic, can pass bend test or not? IP ratings? light or bulky, etc.
battery
software and UI optimisation..

It would not be a surprise if Xiaomi will starts to introduce cheap SD with 5G on upcoming lineups. Not only Xiaomi, but most of the brands will follow.

Uknown, 30 May 2021Xiaomi poco no support update MIUI software, don't buy.True, when it comes to software support, Poco is the last one to receive it. Even the more expensive models. I have a Poco F3, only as a secondary phone now, and I am still waiting for the MiUi 12.5 update. Even though some Xiaomi or Redmi models have already receive it. And I am not talking about flagship phones here.
But, at least Poco brings the prices at the lowest level possible. In my country they are a little cheaper even than Redmi phones.
In the end you can't have both. If you are interested in software updates, or more clearly, timely updates, don't buy a Poco phone. If you want nice features at the best price, get a Poco.
