An OS that can run on minimal hardware is a good OS (it will definitely run better on higher specs). It offers the users much POWER for less $$$ - a sort of "counter-Apple Inc." principle.
Just look at the Nexus 7 which is a $200 tablet. One can also look at the success of the affordable Kindle Fire.

Why are people upset it might be LG? This is a nexus phone which means everything will come from google. LG will just build it. Just like my current nexus. So I won't mind trying it out. I don't like the 8gb internal if it's true unless it has micro sd slot. :)

In Korea, there is a general acceptance that LG after the optimus LTE 2 has been improved to the level that its phones could almost compete with the Galaxy series phones. After having used the Optimus G (my brother's phone) for a while, I feel that the UX is at least at part with Samsung smartphones (at least to my German Note N7000). I am thinking of switching to LG Nexus when it comes with 1080p resolution for the IPS screen.

[deleted post]It won't be priced as much as an iphone, there's talks of it being very reasonably priced (No phone costs as much as an iphone anyway...) . Also this is a very old preproduction model, I'm 99% sure it will come in higher memory capacities than 8 GB. So relax, :-) it's all good.

AnonD-9845, 14 Oct 2012Blehh..all the theory about nexus devices being reference d... moreTrue the Nexus range is supposed to be Googles show off flagship smartfone..Yet the Samsung Nexus S lauched just as everyone was going dual-core..The Samsung Nexus has cheap components and the dimmest screen on the market,not exactly top dog spec and quality..Maybe LG will use better components..
Everyone seems to get spec obbsessed but its so much more than that...Its camera quality good video recording,good microphones and earpiece that is nice and clear..The screen quality and sunlight ledgibility battery life..Its no good having 16 core 4 GB RAM if the rest of phone is poor.
