Rumors also say this is a 6" display at 1080p.
Would be good for the platform if more devices use the same processor etc.
Easier and faster porting.

I dont know what is the version of Bravia engine on other Sony electronics now, but my TV is not of the newest models and has Bravia Engine 3. So, BE3 is not news any more on TVs, and MBE2 is brand new from what i can see (Xperia V is the first to have it, is that correct?)

Sony is more like apple,very slow /late adoption of technologies,as a result they have been left behind by the competitors..sony should follow the path of samsung and htc (not to mention even the crappy LG managed to produce first 2GB ram device)

But these phones will be next year's flagship also they are to handle 1080p resolution so quad-core processor is a must...

2x, 14 Oct 2012Sony always has excuses for being late to the party, i bet ... moreI bet you only read part of the story. Sony said they were not interested in previous quad core chip because they are A9 based. This is why xperia T comes with S4 krait chip which is closer to A15 design. S4 pro is of course a better upgrade from S4 dual core, and better than A9 quad cores.

MMK, 14 Oct 2012So before 2 weeks one representative from Sony says that a ... moreNo, they said that Sony will stick to dual cores this year because they believed it's the better option this year (performance/battery life ratio). They said that many months ago, not 2 weeks ago.
That was the official explanation but the choice was made mainly because they believed in Snapdragon S4 (which was the right choice btw.). Now that there are quad core S4s they will make a switch. That's natural.

It will be armed with a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset (APQ8064 & Adreno 320 graphics) and MDM9615 baseband chip with LTE support. These phones are currently being tested with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and 10.1.A.0.XXX firmware.
