Also who gives a s**t if BETA is buggy. It's literally the first beta version. And with iOS 15 launch months away it'll be fixed. I've updated to every single iOS version the moment it was out and I never experienced any bugs at all. It's funny how Android fanboys are the loudest about "bugs" yet none of you even uses iOS. Meaning you people have ZERO actual insight into anything yet you're the loudest to complain. ?!

13 models will be the last flagship phones with a charging port. I was going to wait until a punch hole front camera but I can't think a phone without a charging port so I don't have a choice

So you have to put phone on its screen when leaving it on a table like an absolute savage and having to pick it up when you unlock it coz you can't bloody see the screen. Or having to absolutely pick it up if on its back coz there is no other way to unlock it then. Yeah, you really rest your case with that one XD But having to lean tiny bit for FaceID is totally the worst thing ever XD

And it is faster and less hassle than Apple's face ID (I have and use devices from different vendors on different platforms, so am talking from experience rather than just talking up the one platform I happen to use).

No need to scan all 10 fingers if you happen to pick phone up "the wrong way" and can't use that single finger you scanned, you can unlock it even when hands are dirty, you don't need to twist your finger or hand because some idiot put fingerprint scanner ridiculously low on the display. When using phone and authentication is required, you don't have to move a finger, you just need that one face in the front which will always be there. And it's just as fast. It's just current situation with masks where all the haters bunched up with the "gotcha" moment and are s**ting all over FaceID because of it. I couldn't care any less. At work where I have to wear mask I'm not suppose to use phone anyway and when I'm at home I don't need to wear one. So, situations where FaceID actually doesn't work has gone down to insignificant levels. In fact I like it so much I don't even mind the notch up there. Teardrop, punchhole in center or side, notch, I just don't care. They are all equally as "bad". Only next step I'm waiting for is moving all this stuff from notch to under the display. That will be the next logical step and I'm looking forward to it.
Like I always say, I'd prefer if iPhones had FaceID and also TouchID so users could pick whatever they prefer. And with that, you could also have super secure mode where you'd have to go through both, a face scan and also fingerprint scan at the same time. It would be awesome. But it would probably up the price too because of extra complexity and components...

sixtymes, 12 Jun 2021still with the annoying notch... no thanksI do agree with you. I do have an LG V50 that has a similar notch to the iPhone and I still don't like it. In fact, I never like it since day one. At least with that LG, there is no facial recognition scanner in the front and there is an ability to seamlessly hide the notch from the Settings. But despite that, it really does makes me appreciate how beautifully elegant the current Sony Xperia phones are.

I don't care if it's a physical type or an under-display type as long as it is a fingerprint scanner in the first place. During these pandemic times, using facial recognition while wearing a mask is a complete joke.

Guess what, notch has FaceID sensors and people like FaceID. And not even this stupid virus made us change our minds. It's still awesome feature. It's not like we have pandemics every year. Last serious one was 100 years ago. I was using it for 2 years prior. And when this nonsense is gone I'll be using it just the same. In fact at home it hasn't really changed and we weren't suppose to be outside and interact much anyway.
