I used to have ASUS P525 earlier in 2005 it was the no.1 and fastest mobile phone. The device is still with me without any issues, besides most of the technology you see nowadays are available since with ASUS like Siri for iPhone I do have the Voice Commander with same functionality, beam technology, power saver and battery up to 4days. ASUS rocks and I'm the biggest you might see I'm now using HTC and I'm waiting to get the PADFone 2 with Tablet asap the price is reasonable compared to Note 10.1" + Note Phone you'll pay more not less than $1100 and for iPhone 5 + iPAD 4 you gotta pay around $1500

price is sensible in compare with galaxy note2 and iphone5 but if asus wants to rush into cellphones global markets which have been crammed by other brands, with this price it'd probably fail.

share the cost?, 17 Oct 2012WHAT!, from my understanding, you implied as, in order to u... moreWhy can't you understand weight differences...
The 10.1" tablet dock PLUS!!! the phone in it weighs less than an iPad 4....
People carry 17" laptops around with their phone, wallet, backpack with 5-6 books in it, maybe a ebook reader too if they are pro, etc, ect...
There is a guy in my class that has all of that (minus the kindle Ereader) and carries an iPad 1 that weighed the most of all other tablets today.
I guess we are all soldiers...
And in case you have any other complaints, think about this.
You manage everything on your phone, from your facebook to your email to videos, pictures, voice recordings and even typing notes. You can't do that all on a phone efficiently with a small screen and a laptop or separate tablet has a different hard drive so you have to transfer data all the time. OR you could put your phone into your tablet and simply do everything on a bigger screen and on the same platform while also charging your phone. maybe watch movies on a big screen too? BRILLIANT!
A tablet is a phone just with a bigger screen, so why would you have 2 separate sim cards with 2 plans for the same purpose.
Or if your stupid you can waste money on an iPad 4 to play some stupid low end .99 cent games.
Your choice but the Padphone 2 is truly intuitive and without people like you to criticize it (and maybe a cheaper price tag) this idea will start to blossom to a bigger market.

it is just overpriced and also they don't resale value and brandname as apple is having..
So i'm saying they should fall down the price..

Just want to add, this cost me $900.

You can get the 64GB version for $1000.

A 32GB iPad is $900. An iPhone is another of the same size is another $900.

You can get this for nearly half the cost. Im not saying its some kind of basement pricing - its not supposed to be - its the latest technology available. but its not a "bad" deal as some are going on a about.

PS Polaris works very well on it as well for doing word documents, insert tables whatever you want it has blown me away.

Haters say what you want.. I am a hardcore Apple fan, I have the iPhone 5.. but I got this yesterday and it is amazing. Best droid out. For me I only like HTC and now Asus. Build quality is something I really demand and the Asus delivers. Good battery (we'll see) but heaps of features and works just like you want it too.

Because of the innovation of the phone sliding into the screen/battery station, and the phone doing most of the work, I have a tablet now that doesnt need a seperate sim card to get online outdoors. And to top it off, its 4G! This DOES have FM radio as well despite some people saying it doesnt, and the screen and speed is amazing. Clean android experience from factory. Great build. Im very very happy so far. Cant wait for JB.

Pricing is going to be the downfall of this brilliant device. Asus need to accept that they're not Apple and cannot charge those kind of prices. I mean, $310 for that dock which is basically just a display and a battery? Who on earth is going to pay that kind of money when you can buy awesome tablets like the Nexus 7 (32 GB) for $250 ..??
Then comes the pricing of the phone alone. $620 is a lot to ask for something with Asus written on it. I agree that its very well built, well designed and looks really nice and has the best specs on any smartphone out there, but most consumers do not know how to judge a device on merit. All they see is the brand. Hell, even HTC could not manage to pull away a ton of sales at that pricing for the fantastic One X when it launched. Initial pricing is what makes or breaks a device. Why do these manufacturers not get it? I believe there's an error above in that the 32 GB model will be priced at $750, that's actually the price for the 64 GB model. The 32 GB model will be somewhere in between, around $680 or so.

If Asus are really serious about selling this device, they have to rethink the pricing. They have to drop every price point by about $50 to 80 and make the dock available for $150 (200 max) separately. It will NOT sell otherwise.

Firstly, is for the people who like to use their tablets more often when they are on the fly. This is why you need to carry a bag for the pad! What is the point to buy this combo, and put the useless pad at home? And your family members can not use it, because you need 2things put together in order to make it works!.... lol.

Secondly, These people though buying this combo pad+fone will be cheaper than buying them separately from other brands (Samsung, HTC, apple....) !. ....lol.....That is not true in this case!....lol. You can do a basic math on your own: pastime= $1100 U.S (approximately), with $1100 you can buy a new phone at $700 + a new tablet $400. This is very close comparison in the two methods, please don't tell me the different is $50 or $100. That's not important to discuss!.

You don't need to carry the tab to use this as a phone. You can use the phone seperatly, however if you wanna use it as a tab, just put the phone in it. Then communication related features of the phone can be done through the tab.
