Can't believe it. It's like slapping us in the face over and over. They seriously CAN'T get anything right.
2000 MAH BATTERY ON THIS BEAST?
Just like they give the one x a 1800 mah - sadly i own this device because i never really focused on battery capacity before. I was used to just purchasing something and that would be it. But htc... yeah.. make it slimmer.. keep making it slimmer cause obviously you think you know what your customers want.
If you really knew what your customers want you would know that they would sacrifice a few more extra hours of battery life for a thicker phone. AT LEAST LET THEM ENJOY THE SCREEN TO BEGIN WITH! My biggest concern is always "oh crap, how long can i use it before it runs out?"
The screen is great, the phone is great... WHEN IT'S ON IDLE. Start using it and it's good bye.
But obviously you don't know anything. Release a flagship (one x), just to have its faults and the rest of the errors fixed in the next pretty much identical phone (one x+) - that's when you realised you need a 2100 mah capacity battery and leave us one x users stuck.
I know a few one x users in real life, this is our first and last htc phone. Even people at xda forums seem to be regretting their choice of selection. I can't see this having a turn for the better in the long run, but it's your fault. You're like the idiot who just never learns out of their mistakes
Good luck HTC, you're going to need it.
hah... slimmer phone >_>

1080p on a 5 inch phone is so unnecessary. It just drains battery faster.

Not sure why people complain about the battery size, S4 pro already proves a 2000mah battery will last for more than a day or so, even with same specification, there will be variation. No one knows the power consumption rate of the new LCD, so can't judge by the number here. i wouldn't say it is a bad decision for HTC until the real battery test comes out.

AnonD-76172, 17 Oct 201271 mm wide?!? No thanks. You fail again HTC. Good luck avoi... moreI know I shouldn't feed the troll, but anyway:
it is less than half milimeter wider than SGSIII and packs better screen - it's a tiny bit tall but nothing that can't be handled, considering the best HW specs of _any_ smartphone in the world, including iOS & WP8 devices
even Note2 killer for those that do not need the Pen but were looking for bigger screen

next up will be a phone with a 5.5 inch 2160p display, 1080p recording at 60fps, a quad-core 2.5 Ghz processor, 2 gigs of RAM, and freaking 2000 mAh of battery. HTC wins with Sense, with their build quality, with this gorgeous display, but damn do they suck at battery time. 2020mAh is a major fail.

I'm sure that a lot can change in terms of availability until december :)
the size is really the maximum allowed for a phone, at almost 15cm long x 7,1cm wide it is large, really large - large in the way 1998 gsm phones were large - they no longer fir in the pocket, no longer fit nicely in the hand (will fit ok in mine.. but i'm not actually average) etc. I used to look at improvements in size with hope for bigger&better but now it has to stop and go another way, like quality and density(useful ppi not marketing useful ppi that drain compute power for nothing).

THE KMT6, 17 Oct 2012HTC my friend: U come with a 5'' screen phone, equip it wit... moreNot to mention the much smaller 4.3" Motorola RAZR MAXX - which is also slimmer! - and still managed to fit a 3300mAh battery.
Disappointing as always in terms of battery power from HTC. Massive 5" LCD screen with a computing hungry 1080 resolution - and still, crappy battery.
