Samath N8 808 owner, 16 Jun 2021Why is SMS requiring internet now? And honestly, Google ... moreFrankly, I don't know why it took them so long. Apple has had iMessage like forever. WhatsApp has been around forever. And Google's message app still relies on SMS.

I'm more angry about Microsoft and their failure to bring MSN messenger to mobile though. They were ahead of everyone else and just blew it.

Why is SMS requiring internet now?

And honestly, Google Messaging app is useless. I mean, it had one job, to send a single phone number contact to someone, without making it a MMS, and it couldn't do it. Situation is this bad. Just making contacts a text message is so tough for this so called app.

More than that, I even completely deGoogled my Android phone and make it completely open source.

Renato Riccardi, 16 Jun 2021A little late now, that people use Signal for years. www.... moreI just managed to get people on board with SIgnal just to realize it still lowers quality of photos sent through it. I literally pushed people from old MMS to Signal with argument you can send full quality photos through it just to realize that's not even true because they changed it half way through. It's a terrible decision as more people care about content quality sent through it than end to end encryption itself.

so, all your data goes to USA government. (since they were found guilty of stealing facebook, google user data previously)
hahaha nice trick to steal our data.

                            Why would anyone trust Google?

Recently a lot of criminals found out that Anom, a supposedly secure messaging app, wasn’t secure at all.

I’ll only trust homing pigeons from now on.

As long as they don't also opensource the app, we can't be sure Google doesn't hold the encryption keys in a database.
