I dont care about oneplus anymore. I made my op8 into a op 5+3 when all the network problems it had furiated me enough to brake it in two halfes. It sucked then and now if sucks even more.

Maybe because Poco is somehow more independent than Redmi is. So, I am thinking, that there is a different team taking care of this.
Even the MiUi 12.5 update came just 1 week ago. Even though on some Xiaomi or Redmi models it arrives since start of May. Anyway, I think it will be my last Poco phone. From now on I will buy directly Xiaomi models.
Problem is, that Xiaomi didn't released any good mid-range phone this year in my country. They released Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite and then directly Mi 11. Nothing in between. Some SD870 model or something. And that's probably because, they still sell the Mi 10T/10T Pro series with SD865 (at relatively high prices).

Well I have a infinix zero 8 and it gets security updates every 1.5 months and people say infinix tech support is bad. Dunno we can believe the YouTube tech channels or not.
And by the way if your one plus theory is correct then that's also a copy of Apple's practices😂

Even they are big fat liars. As they promised they'll give AOD update to 7 n 7pro aft launch but still we're waiting to get. They had launched their last two flagships with just 2bands n promised they'll unlock more in future n now denying. Still charging premium.
They want to become next Huawei but they just cannot.
Huawei really had amazing phones n real flagship experience.

But then again, maybe is the way One Plus is forcing its customers to buy the latest One Plus 9 series. Lol.
Still, is a good thing that they updated the security patches to June. My Poco F3 (which is a new 2021 model), is still on 1-4-2021 security patch. Maybe they will update to June security patch somewhere in October. By then, I would have sold the phone twice already. Hahaha.

The sad part of oneplus Europe, is that support stops on current model as soon new model comes out. Because it's the carrier service to handle the support updates, and they simply just don't care about the older models when new comes out. I had 7t, and lost volte and wifi call as soon oneplus 8 came out. Even android 11 didn't get it back. Mostly it's cheaper to buy the phone via the carrier than the company's shops.

In my country people are pretty scared of updating 1+ and xiaomi devices because data gets formatted for no reason but only on some models like this one .They should have fixed that I guess.

You know you are up for literally nothing when being able to screenshot AOD is a highlight of the patch.
