Anonymous, 18 Jun 2021I mean why bother, now that Nearby Share is a thing?I don't understand the hype no one will use it anyways (at least in Nigeria here) because everyone even IPhone users use xender only for files transfer

YUKI93, 18 Jun 2021Still couldn't beat simple yet effective wired file tr... moreNearby sharing and Android Beam use Bluetooth for the transfer which is super slow, Samsung removed the file transfer with WiFi Direct which was really fast (I don't know if Quick Share is a newer version for WiFi Direct, I haven't used it yet).
On my S7 which still has this feature, they made it a bit annoying to use because I'm certain that in the past it worked in power saving mode but after an update, the feature won't work unless you turn off power saving mode!

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2021Nearby share is mostly useless and cumbersomeI use it a lot and it works flawlessly

Transfering to my pc, ok for a larger file the cable is on the table anyway.

I don't understand why USB 3.0 is still relegated for upper-midrange/flagships.
I mean we had brilliant mid-range phones like the Reno 1 & 2 but every next device just keeps cutting features from 3.5mm to mSD to USB 3.0

Lolz Samsung is already late to the party shame Huawei started that first copy cats 😑

I personally used the "Software Data Cable" app for a long time since it was much faster.

Samsung is more and more joining and working together with chinees brands from Huawei tot Xiaomi en not only with this but also in camera chips, memory and processors. It's all about the protect your own market together without the US.

Still couldn't beat simple yet effective wired file transfer. Even USB OTG is still faster than wireless file transfer.
