G.F. Gokce, 19 Oct 2012when you forgot your own production OS'es like Symbian and ... moreThats true, a lot of people is saying that Nokia should have insisted on meego or at least to continue improving symbian. Despite the fact that meego has no future and almost 1 year now we have a lot of lumias around, N9 price is still high and its recommended from experts in mob. phones. What can i say, Nokia is an example of self_destructing...or ...what else???

Look at the everything thats happened so far. Nokia has been sliding and in decline for a while. Cash reserves of not much over $4billion. With reports of losses north of $1billion for each of the last 3 quarters, staff cuts left right and centre. Please look at what i said, i really dont want to see nokia go down, at the end of the day, they make me money if i can sell them. But i cant becuase the product is poor, selling other things is much easier. Shame, but use your sense, its coming. sorry mate

I just can't understand why nokia's not switching to Android OS to move forward in the race....i think the company's director crew is gone mad, they are hammering their own toe with microsoft kinda deals because android is very much better as compared to windows os..
I think that nokia phone are still more durable and sturdy in comparison to samsung phones and if in this stage nokia switches to android they have full chances to recover in market bcz of samsung's less sturdy phones & i hope nokia will do it soon to get their old reputation back & then i'll be the the first one to buy a nokia's android and i think all the nokia's old fans also cz nokia's still holding a position in their heart bcz of it's old successful, sturdy & durable phone's.....

AnonD-49463, 19 Oct 2012Your dream is over too...get up Nokia is going to survive ... moreMicroplex had a better grasp of whats going on than you my friend. He isnt far off the mark. Fair enough, a reduced loss is recorded but its still a loss,,, If i lose £20 one day, then only lose £15 the next out of my pocket, im still gonna be pretty narked off. Loss is loss, no two way about it. If your falling, but your fall slows down, your still gonna hit the bottom... Nokia is on its last legs... shame because i want them to do well, i really do. Its like watching an elderly relative that your not close to but fond of, die of aids... Its coming, its inevitable, but it will still be sad die. Nokia is dead... long live nokia

With the scandalous faked picture & video sample commercials, I'm already suspicious with the 820 & 920. The focus was too much with how good it can take a picture. No, that's not all would appreciate. What we want buy are more features & a big app market. Not what Nokia hardcore keep bragging about Pureview all the time! Why would I buy a 920 when there's the Samsung Galaxy Note II, or as a matter a fact - last year's first Galaxy Note!

Nok... moreYeah, sometimes merging to a bigger company is better, i once worked for a company that was acquired by another and the salaries nearly doubled and the profit was synergic. But i don't accept this to happen to a giant like Nokia. They would rather be in the position of acquiring another company.

Nokia was the pioneer for more than a decade with huge market shares.. agreed. Where is the money? surely that would be in billions, Elop stepped in say what 2011 and Nokia was posting operationg lossed by the time he is appointed as CEO. Lost the market shares, lost profits, sales.
What was the earlier management doing?

I am not saying Elop is correct or wrong, but i dont feel he should be held responsible for nokisa's current situation. sometimes, i feel he obviously doesnt have many choices.considering the financial aid from MS, and MS definitely will not encourage other platforms. to me its quite reasonable.

from a business standpoint, merges and aquisitions are the ususal factors, hope people agree with me. i disagree with people who call it as secret agenda to sell nokia to MS. you all know MS funds Nokia, dont you? what do you expect if you are MS? you give away money for free?

Best interest of Nokia and its employees to be aquired by MS , my opinion though.

i dont think so nokia did a bad decision in choosing windows as a platform , its a nice os and refreshing in everysince. but one thing we are not taking into account is the microsoft factor which is that they are very good in slowly creeping in and beating other step by step with the help of their microsoft windows in the past , remember netscape how they throw them out , xbox and people thought that it would never be able to compete with playstation , but the fact is it is not competing

with the help of their own windows 8 pc they will create such an environment for windows mobile that people will start prefering their phones and microsoft is very good at that .

lastly its not nokia making bad phones, its just people perseption has changed, i owned a samsung omnia two years ago and everybody said what a crap u have in ur hand nobody buy them , it wasnt that samsung was making bad phones its just the way people assume and follow other opinion instead of experceing it first hand. so nokia is not suffering in long run

plastics are used in bullet proof items, not all kind of plastics are cheap, it is designers of some company foolishing public as aluminium and polycarbonate amterials are branding as costly... moreover samsumg uses a kind of designed plastics which is easy to recycle and gives glossy finish..
