OS wise, Android is better that WP/iOS because of being an open source. Though it has a disadvantage being an opensource but still more head is better than one. because Android is being customized/developed by more people unlike WP/iOS that only the official developer controls its OS.

This site is full of prophets and fortune tellers. Most people talk of Android as if it is the Messiah of OS'es.
Nokia is doing a great job adopting wp, everyone who has actually touched a lumia knows that these handsets is the next best thing. give them time... It's only been a year since the start of the transition. All Nokia needs atm, is more time... Sooner or later ancient Android will fall just like Symbian did. It's not what you can do with, but how you do it. And in that aspect even iOS if far behind wp.

Nokia have to face the reality that getting almost $1 billion US from Microsoft was not the right way to do business in the long run.

Sadly the biggest mistake was not to try and save Symbian S^3 (Anna / Belle / Carla) family of smartphones, they could of continued to develop Symbian family OS to those buyers of smartphones that want an OPEN access smartphone and not closed ecosystem OS like WP7/7.7/7.8 and soon WP8 will be.

As for MeeGo, that was never going to take off, no matter how much money Nokia & Intel threw at it, it was a fail, much like Samsung developed their own OS called Bada, look at both project now fro the Intel Mobile side, its called Tizen and even that OS will fail.

I have read a lot of other people here say that Nokia has the best hardware ect .... this is complete rubbish now, the last good Nokia was back in 2007 which was the n95 (slider) ... every other handset since then has been nothing more than at best a low grade development of the n95.

For Nokia to return to mid levels in smartphone world wide share they need to adopt two major changes:

1: Dump the Lumia line of handset to rid it self of Windows Phone stigma

2: Develop an all out war machine smartphone using Android OS

As I said they should never had abandoned Symbian family OS, they could of used that as their mid range level of hardware smartphones and as such push it to emerging markets where margins are still high to get a Good ROI (return on investment).

As for the full blown war machine Android OS, how cool would it to see the following specs from Nokia:

                                - Quad Core 2GHz
                                - 2GB RAM
                                - 4 antenna system (1: GSM (tuned to all bands) / 2: CDMA (tune to all bands) / 3: 3G WCDMA (tuned all bands) 4: LTE (tuned to all bands)
                                - 4.5 Pure view HD 1080x1920 Clear Black LED screen
                                - 3000mAh battery with wireless charging
                                - Internal 64GB memory with option for MicroSD 64GB
                                - There own Nokia skin called "27753" sitting on top of Android 4.2

Call it the Nokia "R-HD - model number: 27753" (figure it out people) and sell it for a retail price of $550(USD) and watch Nokia not be able to keep up with demand.

                                Game over ...
