lets go through nokia's options trying to figure out why they went to windows

1 Symbian Os
Not a smart phone OS (very basic and does not support modern hardware)
No ecosystem

Getting both of them worked is huge amount of cash and time required as they dont have both so option out.

2 Meego Os

Need to put lot of efforts and cash to get apps and ecosystem and system is not widely accpeted. Same constraint as above

3. Andriod Os
Need Rocket hardware(multi code and GBs of ram) to run smoothly as its multitasking and not limited.
nut look at devices running andriod without such specs , they will make u cry and frustrated. not single app run not support.
Not every one can own s3 , if u use phone with limited memory internal memory like (160 Mb) u will understand what i am saying.

Consider a phone with specs of S3 and L920 chesis all polycorbonate will surely cost $1000 , will anybody pay that money.

I dont think thats the right choise go for android and loose ur build quality to run that os.

So nokia made right thing to go with windows as far as microsoft(cash rich) is helping them to build ecosystem.

Dose this make sense ?

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2012i remember my first phone was a Nokia, my first smartphone ... moreI agree. Nokia should just use android as well as WP at the same time. It will give the users choice as well as combine good hardware (nokia) with a free flowing software (android). Nokia wins, user wins. Everybody wins. That is why samgsung is no 1. They made all sorts of phones with different software to cater for the market.

Nokia should not use android, because it will be one horse race in smartphone market. People will get freedom of android and build quality of IPhone.

from my experience with nokia i would rather go with any other phone in the world. Prices are to high for what they've got to offer, symbian was a fail, the touchscreen is more like a pushscreen, doesn't work unless you push wich is stupid. I still wonder how they managed to sell so much and how they have so many fans. Almost forgot i've got a lot of friends with nokias that lost their unlock buttons wich i never saw happening at any other phone that's for the ones that praise nokias build quality. So from my point of view they are finally geting what they deserve. There's a say in my country it goes something like: You sleep as you make your bed, and nokias bed was made wrong, very wrong.

And for the ones that praise the deep black bla bla bla, any phone with super amoled screen will top that and have better colors. Black on a amoled screen is really black, the pixels don't light up when it needs to show black, now that is real black. Amoled screens have pure colors since every subpixel emits pure color like LED's, unlike lcd screens wich have a backlight source and if u have black on screen, light will pass through the pixels. My sugestion for you is: go for Samsung, used to be a mindless fan to until i tried Samsung and it really is the best, they offer a lot more than any other company for what you pay.

I love Nokia and the upcoming devices look like they'll be really good. I don't have a problem with their so called ample specs and new technology. The problem is the pricing of the handsets. People can clearly see that the Specs of other flagships tower over the Nokia flagship. And at the same price or maybe even lower, then it's a no brainer which phone a consumer would buy. I love Nokia but if it's priced at the same or even higher than an S3 well then I'll definitely go for the S3. Nokia should give more bang for the buck, and then they'll survive.

That happened since Nokia start killing Symbian & Killed the Amazing N9....

I got Nokia Lumia 800 last year , worst Nokia phone I got in my life... then It was the first time since 2001 I buy another brand , I just got Samsung G S III.

I really hope Nokia will come with something amazing like N9 & Pureview 808.

A lot of people make their decision to buy phone based on apps availability and specks, a phone performance isn't only based RAM and CPU, it's also about how the OS is compiled, some OS don't need a lot of RAM and hi speed multi cure CPU to perform well, I have and HTC WP8 running with duel cure 1.5g and it's super fast to do anything you can do with Android super phones, I can stream music and videos from my 12tb WHS for free" I don't have to pay for online space.

However, we all know that Nokia is a gigantic mobile phone maker and by targeting only "specific customer" that use WP8 won't sufficient to maintain its huge operational and company size.

Simply put, Nokia is a heavy weight champion that need to eat 10 eggs a day.
WP8 sales only give him 3 eggs a day, which of course losing his weight..

To get the rest of 7 eggs, Nokia needs Android.
