This all depends on companies preferences and hardware,xperia 2011 phones were high or mid range phones,htc desire hd have same specs or lil higher than xperia 2011 phones,but tht was stuck on android 2.3.5.so its all about preference.as u said about xperia 2012 low range phones which r runing 4.0 with 800mhz adreno 200,actually it is armv7 cpu not armv6,so it runs 4.0,u must glad to sony that thier low end phones r runing ics

I dont want to mod it to remove the features just to have the latest android. but when I feel this is obsolete and the features are of no use anymore, then I will upgrade Sony or no Sony as long as it have what I need... If sony can give me what I need, then I will buy their phone again in the future... but if not, then I look somewhere else... that simple... as for the company that screws users, well these phone manufacturers are all the same... these android upgrade drama are everywhere... If a user buy a phone regardless of brand there will come a point in time that the user will feel screwed because he/she will not get a certain upgrade at that point in time so it is a given... and if you can give me a phone manufacturer that did not screw their users with regards to android upgrades then you're the better man and I stand corrected...

Anellecloset, 23 Oct 2012This is actually the first logical explanation I have seen ... moreLogical? What is logical about something that has been proven wrong by enthusiasts that already have JB working on those devices?
It's not because of technical reason "xyz", FreeXperia has proven you wrong beyond any doubt.
The only thing I pity is that our phones use hardware which has some proprietary (copyrighted) drivers, thus things like HDMI will never be available on those 3rd-party ROMs.
Sony, put your act together and release vanilla Android for the phones you no longer which to develop the Timescape customization!
