Lilmstiffie, 20 Oct 2012It's not Samsung that takes their time. Samsung build JB f... moreI may be mistaken but I don't think that is quite how it works. Samsung can obviously test themselves for their own devices and will get the update direct from Google I assume. I would expect the carriers to take longer for testing as they have more network specific tests and applications on the devices they provide to test. So what I would resonably expect, as in the past, is that SIM free phones will get the update first followed by the networks in order that they deem the update as acceptable. Let's not also forget that though that some carriers will only update phones in certain regions in extreme cases. I think it was Motorola that actually got to the stupid point of ICS upgrades being available in some countries but not others for the same phone. Granted that is not the case here but I think you can see the point.

Aashish, 20 Oct 2012its sad that Samsung takes so much time for JB to be releas... moreSamsung is not delaying the updates. look at other companies they even didn't decided about jelly bean updates. till know just nexus are getting 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. and honestly S3 is already enough powerful and you are not going to feel the difference. and it has S voice so you probably don't need Google Now. S3 already got good enough package. yes its jelly bean does effect battery.

Had a iphone 4s updates were dated with iphones giving you clear dates when the updates are coming out. Bought a s3 great phone but why dont samsung or google just give a clear date on when the update is coming out.
