When I was reading about the cameras, this was a promising device, but then I don't think Google camera port works with mediatek, and 1080p is low for amoled because of sub-pixel rendering, now that shops have reopened, I can see how bad it is on the standard s21, but the s21 ultra mostly alleviates the problem albeit at a price. 120hz is better as it alleviates 24p judder but if 60hz is available I don't mind.

Everything messed up with G95 chipset....Dimensity 1000/1200 would be a great match with other features...For this phone with G95....sorry Tecno...You won't take my money....nananananana...!!!

It's like same argument with Intel vs AMD There was time when AMD was considered as garbage but now is considered better then Intel while still is cheaper then Intel so it's still not premium ? Mediatek is moving same direction with lower cost while still have good performance. Just cause Mediateck dont give it's source code out so people can make custom OS for them dont mean that the chip cant be in premium devices. Samsung is premium brand and also is Nokia and both use mediatek on there devices also so they are now not premium anymore ?

I have a 1+5t star wars edition which has a snapdragon 845 and it works smoothly even today with android 10. This will be getting android 12 or will ship with android 12 which uses less resources than previous versions so this should last lost.

i know the chipset is quiet capable, but calling this phone "premium" cause of the curved screen and 256/8 storage is very big no no.

If it had at least Dimensity 820 or 1000+ in 4G version it would be saved.

Rk100, 24 Jun 2021They could have gone with a MediaTek D900 instead, the G95 ... moreWhy cant the processor last long ? Like what is preventing it ? Who cares that it was announced 2 years ago. It's not like it have a lot of phones with that chip out. all we mostly see is G80 and G85 on phones.
My phone have lasted me over 3 years and it only have SD636 that was by Antutu score around 130k. While this G95 is around 300k and thats close to Snapdragon 845
So i dont see what is preventing it to last long. It's not like these random phones get more then 2 years of support in android updates or security updates. Probably wont get even more then 1 android update if they get even 1
So again i just dont understand what is preventing it to last long and how much is this long lasting in years ? If battery dies then it wont matter how good chip you have in the phone and pretty much all phones wont last long cause of the battery degrading. It's not like flagship premium brand phones have better batteries in them that will last 5 years before start to degrade. They degrade as fast as low end phones does. My phone have degraded it's battery 16% for 3 years while i charge my phone around 10-15% to max with 18W fast charging
