If I want some genuine knowledge on SoC performance I'll go to the likes of Anandtech before paying attention to the waffle that gets passed round in these comments sections.

Now who should we consider more legit, the guys at Anandtech, or some random anon who thinks he's sounding clever when replacing the name Tim with the word lame??????

Because the quality of mobile games have not increased significantly compared to at least 3 years ago in terms of graphics.
Even MacOS which aren’t usually for gaming gets Metro Exodus (extremely demanding shooter RPG game), we’re not getting high grade games like these on mobile, either Android or iOS.
Processor upgrades are only meanwhile for video and image processing, graphics and video editing (if you love photography/videography), or improved battery efficiency.
Mobile gaming isn’t really a thing.

Try posting legit Android criticism and you'll see the difference. OMG, Android hater, you hate all Android phones!!!!111 will be the usual response. Even if you just criticize how Android's ecosystem is being managed by pretty much all individual vendors that then make Android look bad. I don't dislike Android because it's a bad OS, I dislike Android because of Google's hot garbage bolted on it and the fact they become so much crippled without it and how it's being updated and maintained (which is poorly as all vendors want to sell you new phone over giving you more major updates). It's an important difference.

Yes. GPU's drain battery but you're not really gonna get stunning graphics without the part of the processor which processes graphics innit?
There are PLENTY of games out there which use flagship processors to their limits.
Ark, genshin Impact, B.O.T., Pubg etc.
Snapdragon 888 can be called a luxury the way that owning a phone in the first place is.
Getting a powerful phone is no different than getting an expensive car.
You have sports cars like the gaming phones with terrible cameras
You have hypercars that really have it all like flagship phones
With great everything but poor portability
You have compact cars like the iPhone Mini, zenfone and Mi 11 lite to name all I know
And you have giant SUV/jeeps like tablets....
