This should've been something done for the budget oriented phones. Not a "Pro" model of a phone.
6/8GB of RAM is more than enough for the normal phone but since this is MIUI we're talking about, we gotta admit, MIUI needs to work on its over the top ram management, not just handing out more RAM
And now I see this being the next great gimmick like phone who wanna say "quad camera" so they fill it with a 2MP macro/B&W or some other shitty camera.
Now phones are gonna be marketed as "VIRTUAL RAM SO YOUR PHONES WI HAVE 10GB RAM" as if more ram is the solution
Sure it helps to an extent but 8GB is already overkill for the average mobile user. He doesn't need 10GB or 15GB of RAM

Well since when 6 or 8gb is low memory? that too for a smartphone? this should be made available to 2-4gb phones... Also yes this needs atleast UFS 3 storage to be properly functional.. otherwise it will be same as using page file in HDD for windows

Releasing phones with 2gb of ram now have sense. It will be boosted to 4, and they will peeform much better.

Ah.. another gimmick...From now on for their upcoming launches they are going to advertise this like that 2mp useless macro camera.. I thought this is for low memory phones..This phone already have 6gb ram .. then y u need more ram.. eventhough system occupies 2gb ram.. i think 4gb ram is enough... They have to release this feature first for mobiles below 6gb ram... Like 4 or 3...

most of the time i have over 3 to 4gb of ram free, mine has 6gb and already more than enough, what the hell you people need more ram on your phones for? there're no triple a games for phones.

Make me thinking... Apple is using this trick too? They have way faster Storage and using some of it as RAM can be extremely useful.
For example. Their iPhone SE, 7 and 8 can be useful swapping 1 GB storage as 1 GB "RAM" or something like that.
