It may not give you the best camera picture quality. Still, it will give you a more refined experience if you are a photographer to the various controls you normally do not have in the regular android experience.

            My P40 QB sensor can do burst shot, I think maybe at 8 fps, with AF. Not sure if it has AE as well. That advantage still holds by Xperia. But for me, that is not my priority, many other thing is, which a bit lack in Xperia.

                Yeah, this is a rant. Here's my take on this phone.

                I'm thinking one of the reasons for the controversy over this phone is that reviewers don't really cover sheer scope of what this phone is capable of, especially when it comes to the scenarios the cameras actually excel in. Most phone reviews are geared towards "auto mode" and general use cases while this phone is anything but that. In a sense, that can generally applies to all phones released, but I see the 1m3 as something more peculiar and purposefully targeted.

                Though, the naysayers will call reviews that do cover those peculiar features cherry-picked, biased, paid, not representative of real-world use case, and so on. It's a really good phone. It might cost an extra hundred bucks over other flagships, but you also get some features that are arguably worth the price for some. This is a niche phone. Samsung, Xiaomi, Apple, etc. users are probably not going to like this phone, but that's fine. To each their own. Those big names do a good job of satisfying the general population, and Sony and other smaller market share mobile phone companies has the folks left over taken care of for the most part (ZTE, Asus, Lenovo, etc.).

                Granted, it definitely has its quirks and bugs, but you also get some really desirable features that make this phone stand out above the competition, and to some it's worth the asking price.

                For me, having front-facing speakers, an sd card slot and a headphone jack are pretty important features for me. They're important enough for me to hold onto this ZTE Axon 7 for so long, and this is the only phone released since that has all of those features incorporated (US market). I personally would rather have a 16:9 aspect ratio that is maybe 1440p or even 1080p for battery life, but I'll deal with the narrow dimensions and 21:9 aspect ratio if I can keep those features. Who knows, it might grow on me.

                It's also nice that all you need to do to remove the battery is to remove the back glass, move some ribbon cables out the way, and there you go. On some phones you risk breaking the display trying to get to the battery. Not having a notch/punch, a flat display and understated squared design is nice as well. Cracked screens are much more common on curved edges, so a rugged case on this phone will

                As someone who likes to tinker with stuff, this phone checks a lot of boxes for me, and I'm looking forward to getting it in purple this August. For me, a person who is picky about certain features in phones, this is basically the phone that I've been waiting for.

                I almost got the ROG 5, but frail construction and lack of an sd card slot made me hesitate. Then this phone was announced.

                The battery life is below average, you can't change the resolution (well not in its vanilla state at least), you'll have to use the manual mode to get the most out of the cameras which is time consuming but rewarding, rotation takes forever which'll probably be fixed in a patch soon and other software issues and quirks that may either be circumvented with 3rd party solutions or possibly fixed with an update.

I have an Alpha camera and I use it whenever I can, but I don't take it everywhere. I just use what I know and apply it here, if I need to make any changes then I take it to lightroom

But for me personally, I still prefer realistic colour and details so I'm sticking to native RGB Bayer.

                          Nope they did what Sony couldn't, which is why people recognize those phones more than some Ancient Sony which is irrelevant in the smartphone world

                                      A sensor size between 1/1.2" - 1/1.4" still logical & competetive in a smartphone world. Quad Bayer is welcomed, as it will increase quality of intermediate zoom up from x1 to x3 lossless details if they opt out say, a 64mp, pixel-binned at 16mp, 1/1.2" sensor size.

                                      But considering the Alpha department that get involved are from 9 series, they focus more on the burst shot for fast moving subject. Hopefully future tech will finally resolve that speedy readout in Quad Bayer sensor are available.

Holes and under screen fingerprint sensors are a detriment, not a feature.
                                        I do think its stupid that Sony didnt do 120hz earlier, since the displays have supported it since the XZ Premium, not giving that as an option was something that really annoyed me with Sony, that they're fixing with the 1 III.
