Xiaomi's impressive 200W fast charging might actually become reality

03 July 2021
NuVolta - the company behind the tech is launching a second gen chip that could be sold throughout smartphone manufacturers.

In my honest opinion, Xiaomi has been the manufacturer of the year for the last two years. They are pushing the boundaries of the smartphone industry and doing a great job.
This also has been proven by the amount of jealous haters who have cropped up overnight.

They should focus on improving the battery optimization on their devices, cause it performs very poorly compared to Samsung and even Oneplus and Oppo, no one needs 200w fast charging, that's just ridiculous, 65w is more than ok

Tbh this is diminishing returns. Focus on charging electric cars that quick. Not our phones.

this is future folks and nobody can't stop it. Road to 500W fast charging. I hope they can apply it to other things like ebike, portable power bank, etc.

"800 charging cycles in, that battery lost 20% of its capacity. Which, admittedly sounds bad, but is actually better than the official China requirements of 60% retained battery capacity after 400 charges"

And this is why Samsung and Apple will forever be better than whatever comes from China.

As soon as I got my S21 plus I disabled fast charging. If I can't be bothered to charge at night and if I let my phone get below 20% without charging I need to go back to a feature phone.

Chinese companiesnconstantly try to impress with meaningless numbers. Take cameras for example. Apple, Samsung and Google have proven that 12mpx cameras can be and are far superior to 108 cameras with bad software algorithms, and yet Xiaomi is cramming 108mpx sensors into budget phones as of it means something.
