Also finally some big batteries on the Pixel family.

wow a custom chipset is interesting, would be very synergy with the phone and less trouble or bug that can affect performance

    Android king

Literally a headphone jack away from being absolute perfection. It's a shame Google doesn't get an AKG DAC from Samsung to go along with this chipset.

Kinda sad to see these clueless people defending so hard 12mp sensors...

Anyway, finally a Pixel with a seemingly decent hardware : big battery, updated camera sensors , I don't mind the custom SoC to be at 870 level ( the power should be more than enough for everybody but hardcore gamers) IF , in conjunction with the big battery gives me an excellent battery life.
Just hope there's no usual ” pixel hardware jinx”

chris1998, 09 Jul 2021Oh dear, looks like Google has fallen into the trap of high... moreAre you implying the 50MP Samsung sensor is inferior to the prehistoric 12MP Sony sensor that Google has been using for years? I don't think so buddy.

chris1998, 09 Jul 2021Oh dear, looks like Google has fallen into the trap of high... moreI'm sure as hell if Google tuned their processing properly for whatever the Quad Bayer sensor they will use on the next pixel, the difference in sharpness between Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 especially during digital zoom would be MASSIVE. High MP sensors are not a "trap", there's only so much they can do if they simply increase the sensor size but keep the resolution the same as before.

Excellent battery, Excellent camera, Excellent software support, Excellent performance... well this seems to be a winner...at last Google...but...let's see the price hmmm

If this confirms, probably gonna order the 6 Pro when it comes out.

It's been years that we have high pixel count sensors, up to 108mpx yet they still output 12-16mpx picture thanks to pixel binning that we have since circa 2018.

Oh no, the Pixel 5 was a great size

I would love to see collaboration between Google and Samsung. Can you imagine Pixel made by Samsung and software prepared by Google with Samsung One UI features? That would be awesome. Just too bad it's sci-fi :-(

Oh dear, looks like Google has fallen into the trap of high MP sensor.. honestly should've stayed with the 12Mp sensor we always see. they've got a fantastic team who works hard on their camera software and that's all u need. Essentially all Google has done implementted a higher sensor so the size of the photo will be 10x of what it would look like in 12MP mode and I can bet you, you won't see a difference

Finally an Android phone that will be worth every penny for it's flagship price. Assuming it will start at around $600 that's like paying $120/year for a good 5 year use.

Finally, a Pixel device that has me excited like the first one did.
After the first-gen Pixel device, none made me excited.
Hopefully the custom chipset will be able to somehow compete with the latest SD flagship chipsets, and maybe, just maybe, the Apple A13 (not A14) chip.
                                Sundar Pichai needs to go.

hopefully Google will now start updating their phone for 5+ years, for other chipset vendors should also follow, and OEM make them available to their customers.

I'm really interested on how this all will turn out.

Sure, why not a 150MPix camera? The pictures are not gonna be any better than those from my Pixel 3 XL the only difference is that instead of being 3MB average per file, they'll be 30MB per pic so Google will get more money from people paying for storage.

Strange camera setup, went with 50MP and 48MP, but left old 12MP for ultra wide. Really great to see Google finally having a new camera hardware, but that ultra-wide will be a little short as nowadays manufactures finally started copying OnePlus and Huawei for also high end ultra-wide sensor and not like an afterthought.
