Ezekiel, 13 Jul 2021Yes they fixed the overheating issue with the new update bu... moreUpdated
1) battery drains much faster .
2) Phone slows down every now and then.
3) The apps close by itself
4) taking a selfie is a pain in &#(£9_£+ cuz a slight movement of the phone after capturing a selfie ruins it .
5) It's not the same OnePlus it was before .
Sorry the update didnt solve any overheating issue but made the phone super slow and YES it does heat beyond normal. (90hz display is a joke as it work for sometime and the frames will drop to 60 by itself and if you keep the phone on 60hz i can see ghosting in every menu and everywhere and phone becomes super super slow.
Whether you use the phone or not the temperature will be more than 44 anytime. I will format the device to see if things sort out otherwise i have to buy a new phone as this phone can't be used with the no. Of problems it has .

I am also facing this issues overheating and battery drain. Previously I used Huawei nova 2i that is very good phone battery will get 24 hours and no heating issue.
Now in my Nord battery life getting maximum 14 hours and while using cellular data phone heating is too much.

Of you are reading this please install this update at your discretion. This update reduces your SOT or battery by an hour almost. Used to get 7 hrs sot. Not it's just above 6hrs.

If the fix for the Nord is anything like the "fix" for my OnePlus 9 then people are better off not updating. Since the "fix" by battery now drains even quicker while now being substantially slower in everything except benchmarks than my old galaxy S9. My OnePlus 9 is less than a month old and barely lasted a full day new but was at least fast. Since the update I can't make it through the day at all unless I don't use the phone and chrome is painfully slow. Even a free prepaid I had from years ago is faster in chrome now. I loved the 7 and 8 series but OnePlus has scammed us with the new phones. What's the point of having the current top of the line soc when it is throttled to be slower than free budget phones. They better make a better fix.

I simply do not understand, what went wrong with OP? Maybe spending humongous amounts in marketing and reviewer samples and removing all of that amount from the back-end, coding/programmer/UI/hardware testing teams?

Linux 5.12 starts to have good improvements for Qualcomm soc but this analphabetic tech firm still uses early 4 kernels

"Reduced power consumption in specific scenarios" - isnt that what they were accused with? Not using their powerful cores in some cases.

So essentially they've copied those "optimisations" they've been criticised for on the 9 series to the Nord.
