J., 13 Jul 2021wow somebody don't understand what's technology, bumerYou want to know "what I understand about technology"?

My vision for the future is a phone with no front camera, a single back main camera.
But instead it has a single real and good Zoom (continuously variable focal length) lens that allow to go from Ultra-Wide to Telephoto and have Macro and Portrait built in.
It also has some serious 3D sensors on the back, structured light and ToF hybrids, and while those can be used for 3D face recognition, their main purpose is to track your eyes (and hands).
Why? Because on the back there is are two, multi target tracking, retinal virtual display projectors.
What is it? It is a projector that directly project the image right in your eyes.
What's the purpose?
You basically have the same interface as Tony Stark holograms :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddk9ci6geSs

Literal holograms, or at least that's what it looks like for you, and only the people you "invite" can see it too.
You can see stuff in 3D, but also simple 2D stuffs, much better than any smartphone displays.

It is much better than the underdisplay camera gimmick.
Is it doable, or just some insane rambling?
There are already working prototypes, so yes.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 20213rd generation will make it perfect, that's the ruleWell, it is like polishing a turd, you can't really perfect looking through a brick wall, regardless how hard you squint and get close.
The idea is completely stupid, and even if you could magically get good display + good picture quality, you still will have vastly inferior biometric security (which for some reasons is associated with this tech) and a total lack of privacy.

The disappearing camera solution is much better, and like the other solutions such as pop up, flip up and no front camera, it works first try as it isn't a stupidly complex tech but rather a really simple and good one.

It is either True fullscreen display quality or Selfie quality.
        Choose only one.

Meanwhile, the pop up, flip up, and phones with no front cameras in general all have both.

Bigmeme, 13 Jul 2021I don't even use the front camera so I don't careThat's why we need phones without those, for us who don't care about it, a simple second display like the Mi 11 Ultra will be more than enough!

Looking pretty good. I frankly don't care if selfie cam is literally unusable since I don't ever use it, but clean display, that I wouldn't mind.

it's drastically better in terms of the on-screen xp, but the camera quality is still up in the air, but I doubt it'll be any good.
Overall, well done ZTE & Visionox!👏🏻👏🏻
