Middle to high 5.x are a good size for half the population

Ah well, no pop-up's, such a shame really!
Also only Sony/Pixel/Asus/Samsung seem to be catering to the 5.5-6.2" market, but we need more mid-rangers in these sizes not only full-blown flagships.

I definitely hope that Sony can forever retain the current Xperia design. I am more than happy to take a compact-sized smartphone with a narrow bezel like the Xperia 10 series all day long. I do own a few smartphones with a notch and a punch hole, but the narrow bezel still wins my heart especially when watching videos.

Because OEMs target de 80% of the 20%.
80% of the population of the 20% of the markets.
And them chinese love their big screen phones.
I would love to have more diversity in size and materials when shopping for a phone

The phones are getting bigger and better..... But they all look alike... Easy to mistake a Vivo for a Samsung or even an iPhone..... NOVELTY IS COMPLETELY MISSING... THE SAME HACKNEYED BAR STYLING...

While they dont care about it that there are no options in the market for under 6 inch screen that wont have large bezels. So they dont see that market wants smaller screens. All these 5.45 inch screen phones were all low end hardware with large bezels so probably people didnt buy them also if they got 6 inch screens with same size of the body for these 5.45 inch screens whille with better specs

Number of each device sold shows larger phones sell much more compared to small devices.
- Iphone 12 Mini is just 5% of current sales. Pretty low compared to 12 and 12 Pro Max.
- Galaxy S10e sold way less than S10 and 10+.
- Xperia XZ1c and XZ2c sold way less than XZ1 and XZ2/XZ3/XZ2 Premium.
If Pixel now making Pixel 6 with 6.4", it means a sub 6" was not doing well compared to previous XL models.
Small phones have limitations, no space to have all hardware goodies large phone can pack.

this should be worrisome news, because these huge screens are basically fed to us. a lot o people hate those hard to carry big phones, not to mention that you need 2 hands to operate such a monstrousity.
