No its definitely not for everyone there are a lot better flagship grade devices out there for same or lower price such as Mi 11 ultra. Best phone money can buy in 2021.
Also only 1 android upgrade for such device is a huge major mistake for which Sony will pay dearly.

If you can't afford, don't buy. These simple thesis fits most luxury goods such Cars, Watches, accessories.. you name it.
Such surveys areas stupid as the trolls come out from their holes in order to show how wise they are.

I was a fan from Sony-Erricson era. My last 2 device was Xperia Ray and Z1 Compact. I expect a smartphone should last or performs well at least 2-3 years. What I suffered is that Sony mobile spare parts are hard to find (Z1 compact has display and USB port issue), no offense to Sony fans, but this is what made me switch to other brands.
*Few months ago, I was in a confusion situation that almost made me to buy the shiny new Experia 1 III but I ended up buying iPhone 12.

Never understood the debate about Sony Xperia phones being called overpriced when there are several phones out there that cost the same or even more so why exactly are people ranting just about Sony prices. They all can instead call the iPhone overpriced which they actually are

-speakers are not as good as others in loudness or quality.
-Battery is not only smaller than others... though finally larger for Sony.. but worse in overall stamina
-5G is not the greatest with them

- not easily available locally when it is available
- others have beret ui.
There's just so much going on that a 4K screen and headphone jack can't justify.
It's a great phone and all but many other options have been available and others will become available.

Also, if cooling means spreading heat from processor to other parts of phone, it can be dangerous to the phone's battery. Which doesn't like heat. Since the hotter it gets, the more battery degradation will be. Even though Sony have super large Coolings, when you use the camera app, it overheats very easily, and when it overheats, some camera features are unavailable.

Poco F1 have it but its a heat pipe, redmi note 8 pro have vapor chamber thats sub $300 phone how can this flagship doesnt have?

S21 Ultra or Mi 11 Ultra is better in my opinion. Sony has something which are problems to me :
1. Screen doesn't get as bright (i use phones outdoors a lot)
2. Camera isn't reliable in auto mode
3. Overheats easily
4. Some camera modes cannot be used when the phone is overheating
And that's it. Hope sony improves that

Price is the main factor indeed...they charging way too much...also to survive in market they have to go bit aggressive to compete with the standard flagship holders
