I think this is partly due to the sensors and partly due to the Kirin processor. The hm2 uses a very slow shutter on all the phones its on regardless of processor. The imx766 in some Oppo phones like the find x3 Pro also has a relatively fast shutter. Unfortunately though the gn1 and gn2 are not great in this regard at least on the Vivo and Xiaomi phones they are used on. Makes a big difference in the user experience but is something that not many reviews mention

So the main camera sensor is always the biggest camera sensor in terms of size. So since the size is physically larger you can cram a lot more megapixels on the sensor.

        The UWA sensor because it has to put a very very very wide lens in front is usually a LOT smaller in size. So even a top of the line S21 Ultra doesn't have anything more than a 13 MP sensor.

        Also with mid range phones having processors that are faster than last year flagships and most boasting 90 or 120 HZ Super Ammoled panels there has to be some differentiation between mid rangers and flagships and so cameras are the ones that differ the most. If you want exotic tele lenses or macros you need to splurge on the flagships and not midrangers like these. Else no one will buy the flagships and flagships have the highest margins by far.

          If you gave main camera 108mp, give 50mp ultrawide and if you plan to give macro give it proper 8mp or more. 2mp is useless now a days.

          Most of camera centric phone need to focus on Fast shutter speed, most of lack in that department as of now.. even high end series phone too. Moving objects are blurred most of time due to lack of fast shutter.

            The design reminds me of all the super slim aluminium-clad phones Vivo released several years ago. Good old days.

              But they should have kept the punch hole instead of that cheap looking notch

Not ... moreFor fideo calls is low resolution ultra wide enough, but it got to be there, with limited space most just opt for beauty shooters and forget we use it also to call, where having more natural fov to eyes is important.

                    Have realized just now how ridiculous is using 108mp with 2mp macro. Wonder if the next time it will be 200mp and 2mp lol

                          Hold on a minute, the S10 has exactly the same spec as the S9. More than that, the S9 has OIS and NFC support. So I really don't see any point at all to buy the S10.

                            Vivo is virtually the selfie company which is why I've given up on them. Their phones ALL lack a lot of features I like in a phone like stereo speakers, headphone jack, IP rating, and expanded memory.

                              These are pretty nice if you don't mind a notch... Personally I'd prefer a hole punch.
