hopefully after these two phones are released,
they'll release an upgraded e51i, with a 3.2 meg camera with flash, secondary front camera, possible even slimmer size, and gps if they could squeeze that in.
But it's probably not going to happen.

E66 - boring...
E71 - i'd grab one...
BUT i'm pretty sure both will be MUCH overpriced when compared to other brands with same features...
so once again NOkia won;t become my phone :) which i'm happy about

i think it is a good looking phone, not too different from E61 & E61i which im currently using, i would like to take a gamble and make it my next phone,, not too bad on the memory improvements and also as the camera aswell as the processor speed,, good job nokia

Nokia look at the new Blackberry..that is SWEET ..great screen (why the hell did you think that E61i's screen is too wide??!?)and with a great rezolution 480 x 320 pixels..and to that super fast processor DAMN 624 MHz and 1GB of on-board storage. It also has a microSD memory card slot with full support for 8GB microSDHC cards and a promise for 16GB support.
This is what I first saw in the E61i but I see nothing of that in the E71..same screen (only smaller..dahh?!?), SHITTY design (you would'nt call it a busines phone anymore), and un upgrade to a not so impressive 320 MHz preocessor.
Well Nokia...BAD move with the new device..A DISSAPOINTMENT for the real busines users...SORRY

The E71 looks like the natural progression from the E61i. It severely needed the memory (in-phone & RAM) increase and processor speed increase. If the camera is as good as on the E90 then it should do a good job. A version without the camera would be good too as some of us work where camera phones are not allowed & I much prefer the use of an open QWERTY keypad. I have no qualms about its looks as I still find my older E61 looks the business. Looking forward to the release of this one.

they should have kept or improved E61i's design. e71 does not come close to looking 'seriously business'

E71 *is* descendant of the E61, not of E70 & there for not rip off of the E61i.

John,
my 6 year-old Palm treo is still faster then my brand new E51!
what are you talking about? the multimadia capabilities of my t5 is still better than nokia!
There is still some function what I really missing from nokia phones? usb charging via mini usb? how long we are waiting for this function? years man!
is there changes to manage my diary with nokia? no, because it doesn't handles more then one calendar!
it is so nice, than you have such a nice features in a new nokia phones, but I don't understand why the battery dying within 2 days?
why only the nokia phones starts to heat up when you start to using it?
smart phone for not so smart people! good luck mate!

Great. They gave up on the E70 form factor. Shame, I was so looking forward to replace my E70 with a better E70 like phone. I don't like the E71. Not distinguished like the E70 and it looks like a rip off E61 :(.

I am so tired of see stupid comments always that nokia realease a new phone, for god sake do you evem know what a nokia device can do? try to find the multimedia capacity(sound image...) of nokia on a PDA! do you found it? of course that you wont! now try to find feactures like ultimate symbian versions,gps,wi-fi,pocket-pc,dv-b h tv and so much more on brands like SE SAMSUNG MOTOROLA...DO you found it? no...do you wanna know why? because nokia phones have all most all,so get real duddes, the only thing that you can do its noise, because who like phones that can realy bring features attached on it, will always prefeer nokia. nokia is, and always will be the most sucesseful, respected and dominant brand in the market...

I'm not saying that E66 is a bad phone, it is just that they took away some of the essentials, like one Shift key, Ctrl key, and phones sturdy methal finish.
Who likes a camera/qwerty combination it is hte phone to grab, but what about text-oriented crowd? I sure wish they will leave e61i on the market for a little while longer.
If you notice, only back panel is made of metal. Also, no longer are keys seperated, which is a HUGE issue.
What I hope to be real improvement is the overall speed, becouse both E61 and E61i are sluggish.
