29 October, 2012
The update puts the One X ahead of its Galaxy S III rival (also on Jelly Bean) in several benchmarks.

Furthermore, Samsung's customer service is .... (how shall i describe it ).... is non-existent, so it goes bust you say 'Good Bye', The screen sucks, it doesn't feel like a high end phone.

Dude, HTC is class. The feel of the device is equal / next only to the iphone 5. The Screen is amazing, better than any thing in the market and now it's one of the fastest. LG can make a 12 core optimus, even then the One X is better. S3 is cheap plastic, the pentile display is pathetic. HTC One X is the King of Droids. It was the first QuadCore; Samsung had time to tweek the S3. Now it's HTC's turn.

Lee17, 29 Oct 2012Yeah! and it should feel like a $500 device too!... oh wait.I am just speaking the truth, the examples i mentioned is the reason why the SGS3 is an OVERALL better device.

No one is denying that the HOX has a much better build, it does.

Jitsu, 29 Oct 2012Still worse than Note. Nothing too impressive. It cost 30% cheaper than Note and it's more than half a year older than Note. It's a competitor to SGS III, not to Note II.

I think persons need to actually look at the wider picture here,..Although the HOX does beat the SGS3 in benchmarks, what some persons refuse to acknowledge is, that does not all of a sudden makes it the king of Android.

the Optimus G in faster than both of them, so then by logic the Optimus G should be the king.... But obviously what sets the SGS3 apart from them is the little minor (major) thinks... Removable battery, micro sd, and not to mention the software side like S-beam, smart stay, and the other software additions.

HTC finally gets it right. I mean there are four 1.5GHz processor & an additional processor for screen and multitasking. I mean, it was a shame that HTC had over-crowded the machine with HTC Sense that it was unable to show it's full potential. It was always as powerful as the Optimus G and certainly the One-X plus will surpass it. Too bad for the 1 Gig though. HTC says it doesn't need 2Gig, i personally don't agree. - HTC J from what I've heard is slightly slower. - Iphone 5 user.

Alfonso, 29 Oct 2012The Nexus 7 (Jelly Bean from the beginning) sports a Tegra ... moreThis is a very good point, something I've thought about myself. Since the Nexus 4 comes with S4 Pro chipset, that means that the phones which come with that chipset are going to be really well optimized when they get updated to the android version which the Nexus 4 is going to be released with (probably 4.2). However, both Optimus G and Padfone 2 are getting released with 4.0. What it means is that those who buy one of those phones will have to wait for 2 whole updates before their phones get fully optimised. With LG's track record, that could basically mean - never. Asus said that they are going to release JB for the Padfone 2 by the end of the year, possibly even in november, but that still means that people with it would have to wait for one more update, and that could take months (although I've read that Asus is really good when it comes to updates). We could just buy the Nexus 4 itself but 8GB is really not enough and for a number of users even 16GB is not enough. What this all means is that HTC One X (also taking in consideration it's declining price due to the X+ coming out) is an absolute best buy.

some people have no clue it cant be over clocked the source code has not been released for the 3.0 kernel only custom kernels about for one x are the old 2.6 kernels which don't boot the one x if you have jelly bean sp get your facts right

I love the brand because they dont sell plastic stuff ***cough***samsung***cough*** . Coming from the iPhone we just love how their phones look, feel and perform.

When it comes to software optimization Apple knows a few things that others should learn -- first one is to actually optimize the software.
These big improvements that come with software optimization are a new example of why lower spec phones can perform equal or better than "beasts" (1.2GHz apple dualcore smashes competiton in most tests ... while having an apparent handicap).

I just wish they simply stopped making so many damn models and focus efforts into a quality product range of a few models. HTC introduced the One series .. all good ... and then they got another 15models related to it ..wth? Why can't you just make 3-5 phones for each series and put more work into the feature set and software optimisation?? Why do you have to use so many different chipsets/screens/cameras/etc. when you clearly know that you can't afford the time and money to do a solid software to go with the package.
I can't even start to think about samsungs lineup ... there are so many models that the buyer can't ever make an informed decision about the actual performances of the device. Seems like "confusion of the client' is an important lesson at marketing school

Slight improvement is performance does not matter. What about the battery life? GS3 is still better for longer battery life.
