Kingslayer, 19 Jul 2021Just bought myself an iPhone 4S for only $20 this morning. ... moreOnly because touchwiz was a bloated mess. It was also filled with apps with duplicate functionalities.

Google Pixel 3 (January-June)
Apple iPhone 12 mini (January-June)
Essential Phone (July-December)
Apple iPhone SE (July-December)
I need to use my Pixel 3 in the first half of the year because it tends to randomly shut off when it gets hot. My sim is usually in my Android because they do hotspot niche better and easier than iOS. By rotating every 6 months, it doubles their lifespan.
I use an iPhone and Android together every single day, so reading the hater comments is a waste of time. I need iPhone again for one simple reason: Apple Pay. I enjoy paying stuff with my Apple Watch. Google Pay is limited to one device since late last year. Apple Pay can be used with 9 devices.
When you think of "essential apps", there is really only a few I truly need.

I can live without games and books. Hell, by using a BlackBerry Bold 9900, I can live without all of them. The 9900 made me simplify things again.
Kiwi and YouTube are my used apps on my Android phones but browsing the web and YouTube are a waste of time. It's all about reading or leaving comments and actually caring what others think. Worthless meme culture that's become addictive to read or leave comments.
Most people really don't need more than 5 to 10 apps daily. The rest is wasting your life away. Then when the phones becomes a decade-old, they all become media players. Can no longer connect to the Internet. Can only do offline things. We need to go back to 10 years ago. Smaller screens, lesser distractions.

So much concern from the product development team for a feature that nobody cares about

Just bought myself an iPhone 4S for only $20 this morning. It's still on iOS6. It's in pretty good condition but I forgot how heavy the 4/4S are..
This year, I bought an iPhone on the 19th and they were 3 months apart.
iPhone SE 1: 1/19/21
iPhone 12 mini: 4/19/21
iPhone 4S: 7/19/21
I now own the top 3 best iPhone designs of all-time and all of them good for one-handed use. The 4/4S looks better than any Xperia phone that copied the glass sandwich.
The 4S runs really well on 6.1.3. Browsing can be hit or miss but at least it's still usable unlike my Nexus One and BlackBerry Bold 9900. And I can still watch YouTube but from the browser.
Apple makes phones that last. Try browsing on a Galaxy S3 released 6 months later and I bet the experience is worse.

Finally iPhone with always on display, which Nokia Lumia N920 had back in 2013 and 120Hz display which is already available in Android Midrange phones. Come on Apple give us something new? Not old Android tech.

Typing from my SE 1 and AT&T surprisingly approved my unlock request just this morning. I bought it brand new but it was a prepaid. I thought I needed service with them for 6 months? Guess not. Just inserted my T-Mobile sim and everything works. No code needed.
The SE 1 is the best compact phone of all-time. Better than the Xperia XZ1 Compact because it's still being supported. The XZ1C only got to Pie and no gestures. Some are stuck on Oreo. The SE 1 started from iOS9 and is getting iOS15.

I believe Nokia started AOD. Moto X (2013) brought it to Android phones like LG brought double tap to wake with the G2 which was another copied feature from Nokia.
People trashing Apple as usual here but we wouldn't have personal computers without them. And personal computers morphed into smartphones. Android and their app store wouldn't existing without iPhone.

-Trix-, 19 Jul 2021”An OLED display have the following advantages over an LCD ... moreIt's a no-brainer that OLED is the future for any devices that the display matters in. The people here talking about how much better LCD is (with the exception of the small population that has issues with the refresh rate and their eyes) is just hilarious.
I've been using OLED since 2016 and outside of a bad panel on a Samsung (OnePlus has been solid) they're leagues better than the iPhones my wife had been using. This is not surprising, though.
