When the very last security update for that iOS is announced, downloaded and installed it will finally be time for me to start finding a new phone.

It's about actually getting updates, be it feature or security updates and actually getting them the moment they are out. Unconditionally. This nonsense drove me insane on all Android phones. You see news about an update and then you get nothing for weeks and even months because your region gets it so late for god knows what reason or you happen to have wrong subversion of your device which is always getting updates last, again for god knows what reason. On iPhone, if there is update announced, you'll get it this moment no matter which iPhone you have. iPhones are just sublime in this regard as Apple isn't skimping on bandwidth and gives updates to everyone at the same time. And I absolutely love that. Not everyone seem to care tho, but you just can't deny it's nice and I'd love to see that on Android devices. Like I always say, if any Android vendor gives 5 years of updates for their devices and releases updates for all users at the same time without spreading them across weeks and months, I'd be very interested in that. But so far only Apple offers that with rumors Google is going to do this with Pixel 6 phones. I really hope more will follow after that.

If i want to have these updates i can flash a new rom on my phone but i dont see a reason to do so. I am not missing out on anything. Also i keep my phone clean and dont save passwords to anywhere. Also i dont use fingerprint reader or face unlock cause i dont want that my bionic data be leaked as thats a possibility. Also i can have anti virus apps that also will have the security updates. Being a dumb user is a choice while depending on OS updates and security updates while dont do your own home work

For the value of 1 Iphone that gets 5 years of updates that means you need to buy the one at release date to have that 5 years of updates. For that same money you can buy one Android phone and use it for 2 years then buy new android phone that last 2 years and then buy 3rd Android phone that have 2 years of updates and still have money left to buy one more phone after that 2 years that will be 2 times better in every possible way then your 5 years old iphone that needs batter replaced

Especially if you flip phones every year or two. iPhones are for more long term commitment and people who value good specs and also good software support, but maybe not bleeding edge tech, iPhone is at least in my opinion better experience and value.

SE with 5G will mean 1/4 day battery life. Apple will sell more battery packs that way. Be prepared to have one permanently attached to the phone.

If Mini had "disappointing" sales why bother bringing it again for 2021?
Re-release it as iPhone SE for next year instead of recycling the iPhone 8 design yet again. Problem solved.
