But surely, you will also agree that this issue was created deliberately by Oneplus for God only knows what objective, and surely they can remove it easily, its not a big piece of code.
Secondly, I will admit that companies in general are not obligated to listen, but can you say the same for those companies who sell their products advertising their online community openly? Like Oneplus... ?

They still throttle the performance of their phones and reduce the battery life. Even after being taken to court. Widely publicised and they wont stop it happening as everyone knows about it.

Companies aren't obliged to listen to people. Some do, some don't. What we deem simple may be a deep routed issue thats hard to reverse.

Oneplus is no longer a community listening company. It took this huge amount of backlash to get a simple decision done? You know, even Apple and Samsung would've reacted quicker than this!
With each generation they're increasing prices and increasing advertisements in TV, Cinema, etc. out of public's money. This is not called listening to the community.

This mode is something they should've given earlier. Plus, even now they're using a wrong name to represent it. Optimise doesn't mean this!

Right now, Oneplus are hardly priced any lower than big names out there so no point getting one. Its Chinese after all, sends data to China and USA both.

Apple had similar issue when "batterygate" drama happened and people still repeat it like gospel for all wrong reasons just to shit on Apple. And then years later, OnePlus does basically the same thing and screws up in the exact same way. Communication and option. If OnePlus communicated to people in the first place like "hey we're doing this to make battery last longer without affecting performance much" and give users option to toggle it on or off and there wouldn't be any issue. At all. And you can be assured like 2-3 years in the future, another company will do the exact same screwup. Again. Only difference is, with Apple, I kinda understand it because their ethos is "simplicity and don't bother the user". I don't understand it with Android phone makers who are all obsessed with shoving in as many features as possible and bragging about them non stop with 500 options for every feature they offer. Just communicate it to users for god sake.

Since when has OnePlus started "listening to the community"? Now they are one step closer to just being another BBK brand. We might be seeing the OnePlus Nord 2 and 10 series to be a part of a new breed of 1+ devices with no option to unlock a bootloader and keyloggers hidden deep in the system.

Via Browser for Android is one of the best lightweight browsers. It surpassed Kiwi Browser which I've used for about 4 years. Via is better than Opera Mini which I've used for 13 years.

I needed a lightweight browser because my Nexus 5 with only 2 GB of RAM can lag and stutter when using Kiwi or most other mobile browsers. I tried Good Browser and Lightning. I think Via is the best.
