I have a Zenfone 8 since 2 weeks and I have to say i am very Very satisfied with it, better in any possibile way compared to my old P20 Pro. I only fiddling with RAW using my actual camera only. RAW in smartphones not worth it, hardware limitation. Thats why they had to play with computational in JPEGS.
P20 Pro got a bit harsh on the tone mapping processing, I dont deny about that. But its better after bunch of updates. I think the Monochrome sensor is one of the best aspects (for one who appreciate it) Not only it helps the other sensor for bokeh separation, but also capturing more light, adding micro-contrast in colored output. Starting Mate 30, image processing are more matured with natural details preservation. I dont look elsewhere anymore. Samsung's JPEG are the worst in my book. And I'm glad the Monochrome sensor are back.

The raw files from the P20 Pro were very good (except a strong vignetting and colour cast on the extreme borders). But, if I have to shoot raw and go through the hassle of developing them, then I prefere to shoot with my Sony A7r4. Also the SoC (both the Kirin 955 and the 970) were definitely behind the competition

About P50 Pro pricing, agree. But usually Huawei's camera experience are unique & cannot get on other brands. The zooming system for example. Dont underestimate the x3.5 continuous zoom.

While they were not bad per se, I got disappointed about their photographic prowess after listening to huawei promises. But I admit your pictures look good, and if you are happy with it, then even better. But I still think the P50 Pro is not worth what they ask

Every company out there faking out samples from their marketing department. I've own bunch of Xperia, Honor & Huawei. All of them cheat on the ad. Apple, Samsung & Nokia also included. Can be seen just by naked eyes.
But most of it are showing features on what it can do, using actual camera, showing 'for illustration' watermark. The P50 sample I cant say much it, because no real sample yet, but for sure it want to show its new features. As a Huawei user, I know its camera delivers, and did not dissapoint, at all.

Of course actual camera will always be better. We talking about smartphone here. The P50 burst shot called 'True-Focus Fast Capture' & 'True-Chroma Shot' for color accuracy & smooth gradient colors. The latter because of the new Multi-spectrum sensor are used.
But yeah, u didnt believe it right? Bye then.

I am not saying they are not fine, but they are far from what you would get with a real camera and, mostly, I dont trust huawei

I mean: picture quality is one thing but choosing your composition another (more important) thing. I bet you would create even marvelous shots with an old Samsung Galaxy S2

My current P40 with omnidirectional PDAF does better. P50 will definitely take another step. Those samples shows a fast moving subject in lowlight environment, nicely captured with no colors degradation.

Maybe they were just standing still, hence the lack of blurry details. I wouldn't be too surprised seeing huawei doing that

FACT: - Both Huawei and other phone manufacturers have been caught with the crow painted when it comes to camera / video performance.
In the promotional materials, the images they used were captured with a professional camera, and they claimed that those photos were taken via mobile phone. When confronted with reality, they half-heartedly stated that "it was a mistake."
Let's not get too excited about a product about which there is not much information and evidence in this regard.
