Even then, neither of which are sufficient to entice me or many others to use said device. I'm sorry but if I prefer the ecosystem of one over the other then slightly faster charging and a claimed slightly more robust battery isn't going to entice me to switch. as evidenced by the fact that it hasn't.

But what if it is a "fact"???
Now I won't break down all the "facts" where Android is better... So let's take the simple example of ultra fast charging, shall we?
20W charging talking 2hrs on iPhone 12 pro Max.
Similar amount of heat or lower produced only for 30-40 minutes on my Mi 11 Ultra with 67W charging
IPhone using standard batteries that start degradation around 300-400 charge cycles.
Batteries inside Mi 11 Ultra rated to last 600-800 charge cycles before starting degradation.
Not only is the Android implementation in this case faster, it's also better for long term battery health as proven by multiple tests where heat produced is lower than the one on other sub 25W charging phones. These aren't opinions, pure facts.
So someone saying Android is simply better in the above case won't be wrong.
You still want people to stay neutral and judge phones, even though one is clearly better in that department?

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2021The post made by "former iOS user" guy is spot on... moreConstructive criticism is fine, I'll wait to see some on this subject......
I'll be waiting some time.
In the meantime I'll just change may nametag to 'Down with Android' or 'Android never again' or some such nonsense and spend all my time posting on every Android article, babbling on about why I don't and never will use the platform again.
Spoiler alert, I won't do that because it's lame, doesn't reflect my views on the subject, and would promptly get me labelled a troll or fanboy. But you get the point surely???

After all these years they are still stuck at around 15% shipment which means hardly any Android users are switching.

I have years invested in both and decided ultimately on IOS, another user with the same experience may choose android. Neither is right nor wrong (unless they regret said decision, at which point they are free to remedy however they see fit).
One of us says 'IOS is the better choice for me' the other says 'Android is just better full stop'. One is an opinion, the other is being passed of as fact.
Too many people on this site are too willing to pass their views off as facts, 'Fomer IOS user' is one example, you appear to be another, unfortunately you both are by no means the alone.

Super premium luxury segment is dominated by Android. Cheap iPhone will always remain in tier 2 category as far as hardware and software is concerned

DaFink, 29 Jul 2021Yeah at least you appear to understand that your views are ... more"After all besides an anecdote abut switching to Android, you've not offered any facts or rebuttal of the points mentioned in the article itself. "
The guy I was replying to have anecdotal info on iOS users switching to Android, no facts, no official stats, just opinion.
The article mentions
" You will never see me say something like 'IOS is more evolved than android' however.
This for two reasons, 1. I don't consider myself an authority on such a statement. 2. more evolved along what lines? by what standard? what is the control factor? who is the ruling authority?"
No one needs to be an authority. If someone has used both operating systems, they have all the right to judge and compare them. If I feel Android is more evolved compared to iOS, that's based on my experience with both operating systems and me using Android back in 2011 and iOS for a decade.
I am not going to say what tech reviewers say.. "Both OS are great", "it's your choice", they try avoid saying which phone is overall better in a lame attempt to stay neutral. They get paid to be neutral. I don't care about being neutral, I'll say how it really is.
If you have a problem with my opinion, we can agree to disagree.

After all besides an anecdote abut switching to Android, you've not offered any facts or rebuttal of the points mentioned in the article itself.
Understanding the difference between opinion and facts is important, not to mention extremely rare in the comments section of this site.
Take 'Former IOS user' for instance. Not only was the whole ordeal somehow so profound that he has to make it his name tag and talk endlessly about nothing else, but according to him his opinions are fact and should be apply to everyone else.
I went the other way and switched from Android to IOS, I believe it was the best decision for me personally. You will never see me say something like 'IOS is more evolved than android' however.
This for two reasons, 1. I don't consider myself an authority on such a statement. 2. more evolved along what lines? by what standard? what is the control factor? who is the ruling authority?
Such comments can never be more than just someone's opinion. Both IOS and Android are mature established platforms, each with it's own benefits and drawbacks. Just decide which works better for you, don't then assume it'll be the same for everyone else. There is enough of those types st*nking up this site as is.

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2021Any Android flagship above 700$ is out of your budget.
Peo... more$700 Android phone is somehow out of my budget, but I'm using a phone that was 850€ when it was new... Math isn't your strongest point... Also I'm not going to buy a 1500€ phone just to prove you clowns a thing if I don't need it lmao. I don't buy phone to brag around, I buy it so that it serves me. And my (now old) iPhone XR serves me great. Why would I replace it then!?
You people are freaking hilarious, one moment you're all screeching how iPhones are intentionally made obsolete after release and how iPhone users are all sheep who buy new iPhone every time it's released and then you get all mad when people use them for many years without any problems of any kind. LOL?

Android forces you to use all Google apps and the quality of apps on Android is not as good. In fact some of my favorite apps are water-down versions of what you get on iOS. Not to mention how difficult it is to avoid ads on the Android. Junk apps that are impossible to get rid but their sole purpose is to monitor your activity and send you ads, It's just simply a confusing and stressful experience. I'm not surprise that iPhone keeps growing in popularity and why iPhone users stay faithful to iPhone.

Norwegian Gangster , 29 Jul 2021Android has thousands of different phone makers which is ex... moreThose are all paid media thugs protecting Apple.
I wanted high refresh rate screen, great battery, great cameras, great software experience (miui being the smoothest on Mi 10t pro out of all mi phones from year 2020).
IPhone 12 didn't have the first two, cameras were okay, was expecting bigger sensor than iPhone 11. Software experience is a mixed bag on iOS.
I also wanted a phone that could easily last the next five years, if it wanted to...
(although I will upgrade much sooner between 2-3yrs).
That 144hz panel will easily blend in well with the smartphones launched in year 2024.
That big 1/1.3" sensor would fit in nicely and get better with software updates. It's already a champ with fully functional gcam.
The flagship Snapdragon 865 offers throttle free performance with 5g and will continue to do so in the future.
The software currently being Android 11 is already ahead of competing iOS in multiple areas.
I can only imagine how outdated an iPhone 12 will be in year 2024 with 60hz display, 20W slow charging, thermal throttling A14 chip, tiny camera sensor whose camera quality is maxed out with no more scope for improvement.
What is the use of getting updates (on paper)? when in reality, some Android features from year 2020 will arrive late in year 2024 on iOS.
