Anyone can say that to anything. Huawei now got more expansive, complete from all smart devices to software and chip manufacturing, than ever before. If you can't live without Google, it's your own problem, no one else can save you from that.

Huawei didn't release major smartphones in Q2 other than very expensive Mate X2, which sold well. Besides unlike most other smartphone brands, Huawei isn't just a smartphone maker.
As always, shipments don't equal sales.

As far as I know, ASML halted all shipment of EUV machine to China. And they are the only company can make those EUV machine.

Huawei own more than 3000+ 5G patent
Whereas Qualcomm only have 1000+ & Apple only have 70+
When the 7nm machine in SMIC fully deployed in 2022 Huawei will make a surprise comeback.

Over 70% of the smartphone market is offline and Vivo specialize in the offline market with excellent distribution channels in small cities and rural areas. Their Iqoo brand is their online value brand. Expect Honor to be the biggest grower in the second half of the year as they are releasing more brands as the consortium who bought them includes some of the largest offline retailers in China and they will have more models available for sale
