TPAA, 31 Jul 2021Everytime, I upgrade from one version of Windows to another... moreIf you have a valid Pro license then yes it is free since you can use your old license. Win10 is NOT heavy, it's just that you have to do some tweaks such as disabling or uninstalling apps that you don't really used and turning off some/most privacy stuffs in the settings. I have been using Win10 since launch and I much prefer it compared with Win8 (Super Slowwww). I have been running Win11 (Developer Version) for almost 2 months now and got no issues. My PC also does not have TPM and Secure Boot and even the specs were lower than of the minimum specs but it can run Win11 smoothly. I have also used my old drivers from Win7 with no issues at all as long as you are using a 64bit app. If your PC is a 64bit and you are using your brain then, yeah, you can enjoy Win11 on your gadget.

Will this update to final version when it releases? Or a clean install would be required.

TPAA, 31 Jul 2021Everytime, I upgrade from one version of Windows to another... moreDisable everything you don't need and enjoy. Windows 10 isn't heavy. It works much better than Windows 7 and 8.1 on my really old laptop.

Lyrienne, 31 Jul 2021All I care is being able to use dark theme for windows 11 ... moreEnabling dark mode is easy enough, not that it is even necessary. Just set a dark wallpaper and the rest matches.

sq2013, 30 Jul 2021Will this be a free upgrade from Windows 10 like windows 10... moreShort answer, yes.
But be aware, Windows 11 is like a stripped down Windows 10. Start menu is severely dumbed down, no live tile and no app grouping. Start probably stay that way and I have no problem, they replaced live tile with separate widget window... But the biggest problem I have with current build of Windows 11, is that the taskbar is unmovable! I use dual monitor setup and put the taskbar vertically on the second monitor on Windows 10... Can't do that now. If this can't be changed, that's a big no for me. Supposedly Windows 11 will work out of the door with Intel new big little processor, so I don't know, I'm not going to buy Intel gen 12 with its DDR5 requirement anyway... But the thought of having my desktop running at low watt does entice me. Currently running at 60-70 watt when I use my desktop for work related stuff, if it goes down to 20-30 watt, that's a notable improvement.
