Yes there is substantial improvement in cameras compared to One Plus 8 series but that hasselblad branding increased prices too much. One Plus 9 should costs 550 at the most and 750 for 9 Pro at the most. Nothing extra ordinary in camera compared to competition. Axon 30 ultra/Vivo X60 Pro Plus/Oppo Find X3 Pro/Mi 11 Ultra are far better products compared to OP9Pro. For software, we can debate, but Samsung will beat in upcoming years and still king in my opinion. The above mentioned phones will get beaten by Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in still shots. For video, Oppo Find X3 Pro and iPhone are still better(as LG is out of the game).

Anonymous, 31 Jul 2021Because everyone buys on monthly payments. There are quiet substantial amount of people who care about updates bought outright too. One Plus is very good with updates in US. Didnt face any issues in OP9/8T compared to what released in Europe and India.

As a former owner of the OP3 and OP6Ts -- two excellent phones -- ironically I just had to ditch OP9. The thing's a fire hazard. It's hotter than Gal Gadot in anything except WW1984. In fact the OP9 is only slightly better than that film. Had to unload it on eBay in 3 months.
Honestly: 5G + Snapdragon 888 + that phone = hot mess.
I replaced it with a Mi 11 Lite 4G. That phone is definite improvement over the OP6T and was half the price (not used, on sale, or refurbed) brand NEW on eBay.

I have a OnePlus 8 Pro. It is truly rockin'. You know what I mean man ? Pure f-ing class.
I also had an iNotch 11 Pro. It was an abysmal experience where I often poised my right-hand into a one-finger salute gesture, and then proceeded to slam my gestured hand hard into the screen of my overpriced iNotch. The sheer frustration in my inability to accomplish the most trivial of tasks on my iDevice was debilitating to my productivity.
Never will I ever use a Cupertino-designed product. Never.

Americans who don't feel satisfied with Apple or Samsung can turn to OnePlus, who make good phones imo and are priced more reasonably. Maybe people are getting bored with Apple and Samsung?

- buy a $1300 phone, because it has more than user needs
- buy gamer 💻 if person justs uses browser, email and watch videos
- buy a sports car if cant drive faster than 40Km/h
- buy smartwatch if person just checks what time it is
If the "average consumer" does , it is dumb person or just like to show off to hide the fact to be a sad person.

For 1300€ I'd rather buy a Galaxy S21 Ultra.
