Isn't it obvious if you control the ecosystem of chipset+OS and all the connectivity and accessories you kinda make everything yourself? Not the actual component, the design and how everything works together. That's what I was implying. It's literally the reason why Google went that way. Actually I wasn't implying, I outright stated it's about ecosystem of things how they work that's not connected to Android in any way.

They don't make everything themselves. No one does that in the entire phone industry. In fact, Apple relies on other companies or suppliers more than anyone else.
The RAM and storage parts and also the display for the iPhones is not made by Apple buy it is supplied to them by Samsung. Qualcomm gives them the modems for their processors. Even their processor is not made by Apple themselves but contracted to TSMC. The camera sensors come from Sony. They don't even make the Ceramic Shield by themselves despite all the Apple hype around it. It comes from Corning. Their other smartphone parts come from China such as the battery and all types of other miscellaneous small parts like official cases etc. They don't even assemble phones in their own factories but contract others for the same such as Foxconn or Wistron.

Whereas a lot of other phone brands such as Samsung make most of their phone themselves. From camera sensors to display, battery, memory, RAM, even their Exynos processors are made by them. The Nokia back in the day had their own factories to build phones. True innovation is Samsung because their foldable phones have been in the market for years while your apple still hasn't fingered out how to remove the notch from their phones lmao. You are such a very very misinformed person lol. Typical apple customer

What happened to you Google ! What's your THOUGHTS about INDIA. Our Google pixel 4a too had stock availability issues within very less hours I think, thats the market of Google in India, but if you go for too much profits like other top brands, then you will face the same pricing issues as reputed brands like you

Making chipsets is expensive and complicated and you need to have a reason to really go down that path. Samsung did it because they had the capabilities as they have the chip design teams from before and they have own foundries. Apple did it because they wanted full control as they make everything else themselves (they designed their entire own ecosystem separate from Android). Google is doing it because they'll probably go hard on all the neural stuff and to have more freedom with software support long term. There is still huge amount of companies that just buy off the shelf OEM chipsets and stick them in phones like everyone already does and they just don't want to be bothered by doing it themselves.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2021Android is totally inferior to iOS unless Google makes fuch... moreI disagree. And heads of people who furiously hate me for some f**ked up reason will explode after this statement.

Android's main issue on 3rd party phones (aka non Pixels) is the longevity of major or security updates and time it takes for them to actually get on user phones. Android 11 was released in fall 2020 and a lot of phones are just receiving an update to it NOW. Almost a year later. And majority of phone makers/vendors only do this kind of very late thing for 2-3 years with some exceptions for 4 in Samsung's case and probably some other. Sure, phones still work and will be allowed to do so without much restrictions even with 7 years old (outdated) OS until it's phased out, basically the same as on iOS with exception of being up to date the entire time and then being dropped after that period.

Google's Pixel 6 addresses that exactly. And if others will like to stay competitive they better step up in speed of updates delivery as well as for how long they'll offer it because with Pixel 6 Google is upping software support to 5 years. And because it's Google, when they release Android 13 next year, it'll arrive on release day, guaranteed.

Other than this and few minor issues that plague it forever just like iOS, it's a good OS. Literally my only main issue was its pathetic support for which 3rd party vendors have most of the blame.

I still generally don't like Google because of how they mine user data big scale, but I'm not gonna lie, Pixel 6 is a very compelling device. It'll have specs on paper and it'll have a proper software support only iPhone users enjoyed for years. And despite polarizing design, I think it looks really interesting. Especially the camera hump that won't cause phone to rock about like crazy on table is pretty neat.
