Can Xiaomi also reconsider bringing back the A series from the previous A3

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2021Keep calling it a gimmick until it arrives on your phone. ... moreOnce it arrives at "our" phones technology would have improved to the point that it doesn't eat away at battery life.

stuff like 120W charging is certainly not ready now.

AnonD-909757, 12 Aug 2021Yeah, or we could just, you know, NOT remove something that... moreI cannot help but laugh my ass off every time I get called "wireless lover". You clearly do not know me, do not have a clue as to what is quality audio equipment (Corsair is the reference, seriously!?), and the gist of your complains is simply that things changed (as so do the standards).

To be crystal clear, never had any difficulty using my wired Audio Technicas with my phones, neither had any loss of audio quality (i.e., my ultracompact DAC is still the same and works), or had any difficulty charging my phone while listening to music. That is a *you* problem, shared by people who cannot adapt to simple change. Every time your arguments get rebutted, you move the goal posts; that is pretty telling.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2021No, it has done before. Do you know floppy disk drives?Except that if I want, I can still put a flop disk reader on my computer.
When a VALID alternative is found, it is acceptable to upgrade, and even there, it requires a LOT of time between the new tech coming in and the previous one getting removed, just look at how long the transition between Flash and HTML5 took.
And laptops can still read good old CDs too, even though we are in the Cloud era.
Floppy Disk Drives took an eternity to be replaced by CD, for a LONG time, a lot of computers were still sold with those drives when no one was still using them.

Of course, you just don't keep old standard indefinitely, but they certainly not remove one without a viable replacement, and Bluetooth IS NOT and will NEVER BE a replacement for the Jack, they have absolutely NOTHING in common.
In fact, if anything, because of its awful security and all the issues that come with it, it should be Bluetooth rather than the Jack that should be removed.

Anonym, 12 Aug 2021It's not like Y-cables, USB-C hubs, or even wireless c... moreYeah, or we could just, you know, NOT remove something that is ACTIVELY USED by A LOT of people, which is a NEVER SEEN BEFORE in any consumer electronic devices, as one of the golden rule of computer and electronic is to NOT remove standards and to keep compatibility, which is why you can still connect to Wi-Fi A, Bluetooth 1.0, 2G, 3G and 4G and why the USB port can also handle the old USB-A 1.0 standard.

YOU are just trying to find an excuse for something that shouldn't have ever happened, Apple's Airpods sale figure just prove why they did it, they made a study, and it showed they would earn a lot, so being the nice anti-consumer company that they are, they removed a feature to FORCE user to buy another product, and you, like a brainless sheep, you are just agreeing, then, the day the USB port will be ditched all together, you'll be crying and not understanding.

Now, explain to me how I am supposed to use wireless charging when most phones don't have it, which include my Poco F2 Pro, because, you know, haters use this as an argument against the Poco F2 Pro, but they also are the one saying it is useless when someone said it is a nice feature to have.
And even with it, how the heck I can just watch movies or videos from my bed, in a train, etc, when the phone is laying flat on a charger from which it can't move?
And I love how you anti-wire argument against the Jack is to say wires are annoying and not convenient, yet, what is your proposal for fixing the issue of charging + wired headphone?
More wires, yay, big brain moment... Smart bunch...

Why should I buy EXTRA equipment to fix something that shouldn't be a thing and cause problems in the first place?

Do you even realize that a phone having a headphone jack do NOTHING NEGATIVE to you, wireless zombies?
You can still use your beloved high latency gimmick regardless of the presence of a Jack or not, yet, you are against the Jack, why? Why is it so important for people like you to have a feature actively used and non-intrusive to disappear?

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2021So is the USB A still a bad choice? With the lack of either USB-C 2.0/2.1 with PD 3.1 that allow 240W, or a proprietary cable for the 120W on top of the USB-A, yes, USB-A cables aren't meant for such high load.
                      Based on this article :
                      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hardware#Power
The USB-A which use USB PD 1.0 is meant for 100W max and above 60W/3A the cable maker have to rate it for 5A.

[deleted post]Those are actually separate batteries inside a single casing. They just happen to charge in parallel those smaller batteries, thus accruing an impressive total "fast charging" wattage. Each of those batteries does not get much more current than the regular fast charging available everywhere. There is no "triple degradation," it's business as usual as far as the batteries care.

So they spend how much money on development to get same screen as OP7 pro? Actually OP has more screen to body ratio and more pixels and its 2 years old.

And no I would not complain if the phone was thicker because of the battery, maybe you would bu I would be totally fine with it.

"OH BUT THERE ARE ENOUGH PLACES WITH A POWER OUTLET TO CHARGE YOUR PHONE!"

Depends where you live, in my country IF you find a place to charge your phone, being at home or work aside it if often a silly USB port and not a real power outlet, so I can assure you charging via those goes extremely slow.

And before someone starts about charging at work, if I or some other people in same situation would be able to, then I wouldn't complain about the small battery in the first place.

And before someone starts about getting a powerbank, yes I have one with me but no that is not a true solution.

Anyhow had this phone a SD 865 or 855 then 4500mAh wouldn't be that terrible, it's just that combined with a 888 that is more of a issue, so let's hope the next SD SoC is more power efficient again.

Sun Sand, 11 Aug 2021Heights of stupidity, no USB C charger, its a USB A port on... moreThey should make a brick with USB A for normal fast charging + proprietary cable for superfast charging.
Because USB PD have a 100W maximum power norm anyway, and forcing the user into a USB-C cable in a world where almost all power bricks are still USB-A wouldn't be great.
But I agree that USB-A for 120W is a bad choice, even USB-C is.

Edit, apparently they are the new USB PD 3.1 norm allowing for 240W on existing USB-C 2.0/2.1 hardware, so I take back what I said about the USB-C power, I was wrong.

Heights of stupidity, no USB C charger, its a USB A port on the brick along with a Impure USB C cable!!

looks really cool, to be honest. I hope Xiaomi made another one in the future at much more smaller size, 6 inch display.
