Why even put a selfie camera in the inner screen and ruin the display. It's not like it's completely hidden. It would be good to have but not at as a half baked effort

This is as stupid as someone forgetting to buy veggies before cooking. Time management is a thing? Lmao. It's not difficult to plan things an hour ahead

These foldables phones are pretty expensive to make. That hinge in the middle, which doesn't loosen up and is water resistant, is an absolute engineering wonder that they came up with. And the foldable display itself is expensive. So it's pretty logical why it's gonna be priced high.

The biggest let down is the battery
Imagine having a tablet sized display and getting a normal sized battery.

These phones are a pretty awesome achievement, but I am just too rough on phones to trust a foldable at the moment. I am only 18 months into running my s20 and I try and make a flagship phone last 3 years, so thankfully I can resist the temptation of this one.
Although I have to say I am more excited about the idea of the Steam mobile device - I can see a world where I can use a Linux portable combined with a good Bluetooth device so we can finally get away from the evil that is mobile gaming.

Android--Master, 11 Aug 2021Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 looks like a perfect upgrade for me... moreI'm more conservative. IMO the foldable phones still have more pros than cons. I'll wait for the 2022 Galaxy Note Ultra. I agree with the views expressed by Arun.

Cameras are awful, but that was expected. So s21 ultra suppose to lead the smartphone photography game and fold3 is like ultimate foldable exeprience. Well if that would be around 1000 euros or so would be great device to have, unfortubately still greatly overpriced as s21 ultra.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2021I'm just tryint to make some sense out of your comment... moreWell it's pretty simple really.
Often I leave home to some places WITHOUT outlets, like at all.
I don't work in a office.
I'm in a hurry, I forgot to charge my phone earlier and I can only let leave it charging for 10 minutes or so.
And 10 minutes of charge on a Fold 2 is like 15-20% of battery.
Assuming the phone was 5% before that, I'll leave with less than 30%.
THIS is the very specific case where a 25W charging speed is complete garbage.
And YES, it happens to me all the time.
And no, I DO NOT use my phone while it charges because then it'll really heats up and that would cause damage to the battery on the long term.
Charging on the cigarette lighter in the car is even less efficient than 25W, a 20 minutes commute would gain maybe 10% tops.
I believe it's some antique 5W.
So YES, I do have to note on my schedule to remember to charge my phone because when you have a pleb 25W charging speed, you can't charge 15 minutes and have a day of battery ahead.

So glad to be part of the premium ecosystem of Android where consumers are getting access to cutting-edge tech like foldables.

Really lame. I was gonna preorder but have to think about it now. The smaller battery and old camera are really letdowns. Of all the corners to cut, they cut the 2 most important features in a flagship phone.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2021Am I the only one that doesn’t get excited cause of folding... moreNo. Foldable phones are temporary transition for expandable screens. Just like pop cameras were to full screen under display cameras. The only form factor that makes sense for expandable phones is one with a rollable display. This phone is so fat you might as well carry 2 phones tapped together.

AnonD-546724, 11 Aug 2021The plebian 25W charging is insulting on a phone of this pr... moreI'm just tryint to make some sense out of your comment and to try to help you with some advice at least. You have to take a chunk out of schedule in order to fully charge the phone I understand that part, what I don't understand is what is that you do with your phone that it requires it to stay still on the charger while you can't do anything with while it charges. This makes very little sense.
If you are traveling most of your day and you are using your phone inside a vehcile for calls and perhaps navigation or salesforce app there is still no reason why you can't use your phone while it's charging inside the car. If your car has wirless charger then just use the cable instead.
If you are using your Fold inside the office as a tablet replacement while still taking calls and messages I don't see how you can't use it while it chargers
But most of all whatever it is that you do, you have a wrong and inefficient workflow. You either need a laptop or at least a tablet while in the office and a phone as separate device to take phonecalls and messages. If you take lot's of call during the day you might consider buying a phone that has great talk time efficiency.
Overall I see zero case why someone need to take hour and a half off schedule to charge the phone untill it's 100% mid workday day. Maybe you would be better of if you just charge it half a way and don't waste anytime instead. There is no common sense in completely topping off a phone during workhours especially since it will last you until you wake up the next day and it will run out of juice next mid workday once again.
You are either BSing or you really don't know how to orginze your time properly.
