Anonymous, 12 Aug 2021Try to take photos and record video with ToF. Ooooops. Since ToF cameras do have a lens as well as a sensor behind it, you could technically take "photos" using them. It's just that it would be completely pointless to do so since the captured information would only contain distance data and have a very low resolution to begin with, hence nobody even bothers to try it out.

Free form lenses have more complex surface shape than regular lenses and will be able to bend lights with minimum aberration and distortion. Software cannot correct colour fringing at the edges of an image taken by a poorly designed UWA lens.

Someone thought this was gorgeous? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind bigger design and industrial stuff or even robot looking stuff (I like the camera's that are long and horizontal across the back of the phone like the S10 plus) but I wouldn't consider this gorgeous even with my open-ness to sci-fi and other bits.
It's not that bad really and kind of interesting, I like unique designs but it doesn't look like a style sensation or a geek dream either.
